Summary

This 2023 Toyota Rush EX offers a rare combination of seven-seat practicality and a rugged rear-wheel-drive layout, making it a uniquely durable choice for the GCC market. While the mileage reflects active use for a three-year-old vehicle, Toyota's reputation for reliability ensures it remains a dependable companion for school runs and weekend escapes alike. The black exterior is a perennially strong resale choice in the region, providing a sleek look that holds its value well. As a GCC-spec model, it is factory-prepared for extreme temperatures with a dual-zone cooling system designed for the local climate. For buyers seeking a modern, low-maintenance workhorse that can carry the whole family, this listing represents a sensible, high-utility opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2023 Toyota Rushs

At 139,000 km, this vehicle has been driven more than the typical GCC annual average of 25,000 km, yet it benefits from being a newer 2023 model year with updated tech. The black exterior is a highly desirable resale color in the UAE and wider GCC, often commanding a quicker sale than more niche tones. Its mechanical condition as a relatively new three-year-old vehicle makes it a robust alternative to older, lower-mileage SUVs.

EX vs Lower Trims

The EX trim serves as the primary gateway to the Rush lineup in the GCC, providing the essential 7-seat configuration that defines the model. Compared to base variants in other markets, the GCC EX trim includes critical features for our region, such as rear AC vents with independent controls to ensure all three rows stay cool. It also features 17-inch alloy wheels and a touchscreen infotainment system as standard, upgrades that are highly valued during local resale.

Toyota Rush vs Segment Rivals

The Rush leads its class by offering a body-on-frame inspired rear-wheel-drive setup, which provides better durability on rougher tracks than the front-wheel-drive Nissan Kicks or Mitsubishi ASX. While those rivals are strictly five-seaters, the Rush provides a third row that allows for seven-passenger capacity. Its 220 mm ground clearance is also significantly higher than most compact crossovers, giving it a clear advantage when navigating high curbs or gravel paths.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel consumption for the 1.5L engine is efficient for a seven-seater, averaging approximately 6.6 to 7.7 L/100km depending on highway or city driving conditions. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km at major authorized centers like Al-Futtaim, with one of the most comprehensive parts networks in the Middle East ensuring low long-term maintenance costs. The Rush enjoys strong value retention, typically retaining a high percentage of its value after three years due to the constant demand for affordable Toyota family vehicles.

Performance & Capability

With 220 mm of ground clearance, this SUV is surprisingly capable of handling more than just paved emirate highways, making it ideal for light off-road excursions or reaching remote campsites. The 1.5L four-cylinder engine is tuned for reliability and efficiency rather than speed, delivering a steady 103 hp through a smooth automatic transmission. Its rear-wheel-drive configuration provides better traction when fully loaded with seven passengers, a distinct advantage over its front-wheel-drive competitors.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed around family logistics, featuring three rows of seats and a dedicated rear cooling system that is essential for UAE summers. The 60:40 split second-row and 50:50 split third-row allow for a highly flexible cargo area when you aren't carrying a full crew. Standard tech includes a touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, ensuring that even long cross-border drives between GCC cities remain entertaining for all occupants.

Safety

Safety is managed by a comprehensive suite of six airbags and vital active systems including Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control, which are crucial for maintaining grip on sandy or rain-slicked surfaces. The inclusion of Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) prevents the vehicle from rolling back on steep parking ramps, while rear parking sensors and a rearview camera make maneuvering this seven-seater in tight urban spots much simpler.

The bottom line

Perfect for the growing family that needs Toyota-grade reliability and seven-seat versatility without the high running costs of a full-sized 4x4.
