Summary

This 2024 Aston Martin DB12 Volante represents a rare opportunity to acquire the world’s first 'Super Tourer' with just 1,000 km on the clock. Finished in a quintessentially British Green, this car offers a significant advantage in the GCC market where low-mileage examples of the latest models command high desirability and strong value retention. The DB12 leapfrogs its predecessor with an entirely new interior and a raucous, hand-built powertrain that thrives on the UAE’s open highways. For the GCC buyer, the combination of convertible theatre and high-speed refinement makes this the definitive grand tourer for the region's cooler months.

This Car vs Other 2024 DB12s

With only 1,000 km, this DB12 is essentially a new vehicle, far below the typical 20,000 km annual average for luxury GTs in the GCC. The Green exterior is a prestigious, high-demand choice for Aston Martin, often leading to faster resale times and better value retention compared to standard silver or grey finishes. Choosing this low-mileage example provides the peace of mind of a fresh mechanical state without the initial showroom depreciation.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

As the base trim for the DB12 Volante, this model already includes the heavily upgraded 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and the 680 hp hand-built engine that defines the 'Super Tourer' category. It features the innovative K-fold roof mechanism—designed to be the most compact in its class—preserving the car's sleek profile even when open. The cabin is significantly more tech-focused than the previous DB11 generation, featuring physical controls for critical driving modes that GCC owners prefer.

DB12 vs Segment Rivals

The DB12 Volante leads the Ferrari Roma Spider and Bentley Continental GTC with a more driver-centric chassis and a higher top speed of 325 km/h. Its 4.0L twin-turbo V8 offers 800 Nm of torque, providing more immediate highway overtaking power than many rivals in the Italian and British luxury segments. The inclusion of a 78-litre fuel tank ensures longer cruising ranges between emirates compared to more track-focused supercars.

Running Costs & Resale

The DB12 utilizes a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 co-developed with Mercedes-AMG, ensuring that parts and technical expertise are widely available across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Real-world fuel consumption averages approximately 12.2 L/100km, though this will vary in stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. Aston Martins in the GCC market typically follow a premium depreciation curve, but the DB12's status as a new-generation model with significantly improved technology is expected to bolster its 3-year value retention compared to the outgoing DB11. Authorized service centers are well-established across major GCC cities, offering 12-month or 16,000 km service intervals.

Performance & Capability

The hand-built 4.0L V8 delivers a staggering 680 hp, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 3.7 seconds. This performance is perfectly suited for the UAE's high-speed road network, where the ZF 8-speed automatic transmission provides seamless shifts during long-distance cruises. Five selectable drive modes allow the driver to stiffen the suspension for mountain roads like Jebel Hafeet or soften it for refined city driving. The rear-wheel-drive layout and electronic rear differential ensure the DB12 handles with the agility of a true sports car despite its grand touring size.

Comfort & Cabin

The 2+2 cabin is a masterclass in craft, featuring hand-stitched leather and a high-resolution digital cockpit that stays visible even in direct Gulf sunlight. The eight-layer fabric roof provides exceptional acoustic insulation, keeping the interior cool and quiet during summer highway drives. Standard features include ventilated seating, which is an absolute necessity for the GCC climate, and a premium audio system designed to remain clear even with the top down at speed. The boot offers 262 litres of space with the roof up, accommodating enough luggage for a weekend trip to Oman or Ras Al Khaimah.

Safety

The DB12 is equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Monitoring, which are vital for safety on busy multi-lane highways like the E11. It also features a 360-degree camera system to assist with parking in tight urban spaces, along with sophisticated electronic stability and traction controls tuned specifically for high-speed grand touring safety.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast who demands both supercar performance and open-top elegance, this delivery-mileage DB12 Volante is the premier choice currently available in the GCC market.
