Summary

This 2024 Audi RSQ8 represents the absolute pinnacle of the German brand's SUV engineering, offering a near-perfect blend of supercar performance and daily utility. With its potent 600 hp V8 hybrid powertrain, it stands as a formidable competitor to the likes of the Lamborghini Urus, yet provides a more understated and sophisticated presence on GCC roads. The black-on-black color configuration is highly sought after in the regional used market, ensuring it maintains a commanding aesthetic and strong resale appeal. While its mileage reflects active use, this is a vehicle designed for high-speed cross-emirate travel, where it excels far beyond traditional SUVs. For the buyer who wants no-compromise performance alongside modern hybrid efficiency, this European-spec flagship provides an incredible opportunity to skip the long waiting lists for new models. It remains one of the most versatile high-performance machines available in the region today, equally at home at a valet stand in Downtown Dubai or cruising at speed toward Abu Dhabi.

This Car vs Other 2024 RSQ8s

When comparing this specific 2024 model to others currently on the market, the primary differentiator is its mileage, which sits at 67,200 km. While this is higher than the typical GCC average of 25,000 km per year, it indicates a vehicle that has been primarily used for long-distance highway commutes rather than taxing city stop-start traffic. In the context of the UAE and the wider GCC, highway kilometers are often preferred over lower-mileage city cars because the engine and transmission operate at more stable temperatures and experience less wear on the brakes and suspension. The deep black exterior is a premier choice for this model, consistently ranking as one of the top three resale colors in the region due to its timeless appeal and ability to hide minor road wear. Choosing a 2024 model also means you are benefiting from the most refined iteration of this platform, with the latest software updates and cabin refinements already in place. This car offers a ready-to-drive alternative for those who don't want to wait for dealer allocations or pay the significant premiums often associated with delivery-mileage examples.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The term 'STANDARD' on an RSQ8 is somewhat of a misnomer, as this trim actually represents the top-tier performance specification of the Q8 lineup. Moving up from the SQ8 or the standard Q8 55 TFSI, this trim introduces the legendary 4.0L V8 twin-turbocharged engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, a powertrain reserved only for the most elite Audi Sport models. You also gain the RS-specific adaptive air suspension, which can adjust ride height and stiffness in milliseconds to counter body roll during spirited drives on the Jebel Jais mountain roads. Inside, this trim typically features the upgraded Valcona leather RS sport seats with honeycomb stitching and ventilation, a feature that is absolutely essential for maintaining comfort during the intense GCC summer months. The inclusion of the Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium Sound System as standard provides an acoustic experience that rivals the car's own exhaust note, a feature often expensive to option on lower-tier trims. Furthermore, the RS-specific virtual cockpit displays and the flat-bottom Alcantara steering wheel create a driver-centric environment that lower trims simply cannot replicate.

RSQ8 vs Segment Rivals

The Audi RSQ8 competes in the ultra-high-performance SUV segment against heavyweights like the BMW X6 M, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, and its mechanical sibling, the Lamborghini Urus. Where the Audi leads its rivals is in its incredible balance of daily drivability and ferocious speed; it is widely considered more comfortable for long-distance GCC touring than the stiffer BMW X6 M. Its AWD system is incredibly sophisticated, providing superior traction on the sandy or dusty surfaces often encountered on regional highways compared to more rear-biased competitors. The hybrid integration in this 2024 model allows for smoother coasting and start-stop transitions, which is a noticeable advantage in the heavy traffic of Riyadh or Dubai. While rivals often lean into aggressive, polarizing styling, the RSQ8 offers a more muscular and sophisticated aesthetic that ages better in the GCC resale market. Additionally, the cabin technology and dual-touchscreen MMI system are often cited as being more intuitive and visually impressive than the interiors found in many Italian or British competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Owning a high-performance hybrid like the RSQ8 in the GCC is more efficient than one might expect, thanks to the 48V mild-hybrid system that assists during low-load situations and improves fuel economy during highway cruising. Real-world consumption typically averages around 13-14 L/100km, which is competitive for an 8-cylinder SUV of this power class. Service intervals are generally every 15,000 km or 12 months, and Audi's authorized service network is exceptionally strong across the UAE, with world-class facilities in all major emirates. While this is a European-spec vehicle, parts availability remains excellent in the local market due to the shared mechanical platform with other Volkswagen Group luxury SUVs. In terms of depreciation, the RSQ8 holds its value remarkably well in the GCC, typically seeing a 12-15% annual dip, which is superior to many other luxury SUVs that lack the 'RS' branding. The black exterior and high-demand trim ensure that this car will remain a liquid asset in the used market for years to come, especially as buyers seek out the last of the pure V8-powered performance icons.

Performance & Capability

The performance of the 2024 RSQ8 is nothing short of breathtaking, with a 0-100 km/h time of just 3.8 seconds, placing it firmly in supercar territory. The 600 hp V8 engine provides relentless torque, making highway overtaking effortless regardless of the speed or load. Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system, combined with all-wheel steering, makes this large SUV feel remarkably nimble, allowing it to navigate tight city corners and fast highway interchanges with equal poise. The air suspension provides a wide range of capability, from a low, aerodynamic stance for high-speed stability to a raised profile that offers significant ground clearance for light off-pavement excursions or navigating uneven terrain. Drive modes such as 'RS1' and 'RS2' allow the driver to instantly transform the car from a quiet executive cruiser into a focused track-ready machine. For the GCC driver, this means a car that can handle the school run in total silence and comfort, then tackle a cross-country road trip with unmatched speed and confidence.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin of the RSQ8 is a masterclass in modern luxury, featuring a 5-seat layout that offers generous legroom and headroom for all passengers, making it ideal for family road trips across the borders. The four-zone climate control system is exceptionally powerful, designed to cool the cabin rapidly even after the car has been parked in the direct UAE sun. High-quality insulation ensures that road noise and the intense heat of the exterior remain outside, creating a serene environment for the occupants. The Bang & Olufsen audio system creates an immersive soundstage, while the customizable ambient lighting allows you to set the perfect mood for night drives along the Corniche. Cargo space is also a highlight, with a large boot that can easily accommodate luggage for a full family weekend away or several sets of golf clubs. The use of premium materials like carbon fiber, Alcantara, and Nappa leather throughout the interior reinforces the feeling that you are sitting in the flagship of the Audi Sport range.

Safety

Safety is paramount in the RSQ8, which carries a 5-Star NCAP rating and features a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). In the fast-paced driving environment of the GCC, the adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist are invaluable for reducing driver fatigue on long desert stretches. The 360-degree camera system and parking sensors make maneuvering this large SUV in tight mall parking lots effortless and safe. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert provide an extra layer of security when navigating the multi-lane highways of Dubai or Sharjah. Furthermore, the high-performance RS braking system ensures that the vehicle can be brought to a halt quickly and consistently, even from high speeds. The car's structural integrity and multiple airbag systems provide peace of mind for families, ensuring that everyone on board is protected by the latest in automotive safety technology.

The bottom line

This 2024 Audi RSQ8 is the perfect choice for the enthusiast who requires a versatile family SUV but refuses to sacrifice supercar levels of performance. Given its recent model year and iconic color scheme, it represents one of the most compelling high-performance values currently available in the GCC used market.
