Summary

This 2024 BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport represents a highly strategic buy in the current GCC market, having covered just 37,892 km in its first two years of use. This mileage is notably lower than the average 40,000–50,000 km expected for a premium SUV of this age in the region, ensuring the mechanical components remain in their prime. The Skyscraper Grey exterior is a high-demand, high-resale color in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, offering excellent heat reflection and long-term aesthetic durability. As an M Sport trim, it bridges the gap between a standard family cruiser and a performance machine, offering the visual aggression and sharper handling that local buyers prioritize. For the GCC owner, the combination of a refined 48V mild-hybrid system and BMW's legendary straight-six ensures effortless highway cruising between emirates with surprising efficiency.

This Car vs Other 2024 X5s

With just 37,892 km on the odometer, this X5 has been driven significantly less than the typical 25,000 km per year average seen in the GCC. The Skyscraper Grey finish is a major asset for local resale, as it hides desert dust effectively and maintains its value better than more niche colors. This low-mileage example offers a fresh cabin environment and tight mechanical responses that are often lost in higher-mileage alternatives.

XDRIVE40i M SPORT vs Lower Trims

The M Sport trim is the essential choice for GCC buyers, adding the aerodynamic body kit, high-gloss Shadowline trim, and 20-inch M-design wheels that give the X5 its commanding road presence. Inside, it upgrades the experience with an M leather steering wheel and anthracite headliner, often accompanied by the premium Harman Kardon audio system. Crucially, the M Sport package includes an adaptive suspension setup that allows for a composed ride on uneven suburban roads without sacrificing high-speed stability on the E11.

X5 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450, the X5 offers a more engaging, driver-centric cockpit and a smoother powertrain thanks to its award-winning inline-six configuration. While the Audi Q7 focuses on three-row utility, the X5 prioritizes second-row luxury and a more athletic silhouette that fits perfectly into the lifestyle-oriented Dubai and Riyadh markets. Its iDrive 8.5 system is widely considered the most intuitive interface in the segment, offering superior navigation for complex GCC highway interchanges.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.0L mild-hybrid engine averages around 9.4 L/100km, which is highly competitive for a vehicle of this size during long-distance GCC highway trips. BMW's authorized service network is extensive across the region, with major hubs like AGMC and Abu Dhabi Motors in the UAE and Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors in Saudi Arabia. This GCC-spec model holds its value exceptionally well, typically seeing a depreciation of approximately 12-15% annually, outperforming European rivals with non-local specifications.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this X5 is its 375 hp turbocharged engine, which delivers a factory-claimed 0–100 km/h sprint in just 5.4 seconds. The xDrive all-wheel-drive system provides immense confidence during heavy rain or on sandy shoulder roads, while the 540 Nm of torque makes overtaking at highway speeds effortless. With a 3,266 kg braked towing capacity and 214 mm of ground clearance, it is more than capable of handling weekend gear for trips to the mountains or the coast.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around the stunning BMW Curved Display, featuring a 12.3-inch cluster and a 14.9-inch central touchscreen. GCC-essential features like multi-zone climate control ensure all five passengers remain cool during summer peaks, while the panoramic sunroof adds a sense of space to the premium Sensafin upholstery. Quietness is a hallmark of this generation, with excellent insulation that keeps wind noise at bay during 120 km/h highway stints.

Safety

This X5 comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety tech, including Active Blind Spot Detection and Frontal Collision Warning with City Collision Mitigation, which are vital for fast-moving GCC traffic. The Lane Departure Warning and Parking Assistant Professional make navigating tight mall parking structures and multi-lane highways equally stress-free. Standard adaptive LED headlights provide exceptional visibility for night driving on unlit desert roads.

The bottom line

This is the ideal opportunity for a professional or family looking for a nearly new, low-mileage BMW X5 that is already localized for the GCC and finished in the region's most resilient color.
