• 530 hp from a 4.4L twin-turbo V8
• Harman Kardon Surround Sound system standard

Summary

This 2024 BMW X7 M60i xDrive offers a significant performance leap over the standard six-cylinder models, making it one of the most capable three-row luxury SUVs in the GCC. With just 26,000 km, its mileage is exactly in line with the typical 25,000 km annual average for highway-driven vehicles in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The Grey exterior is a versatile, high-demand choice that maintains strong resale value compared to brighter or non-metallic shades. As a flagship M Performance trim, it bridges the gap between everyday luxury and the extreme performance of the Alpina variants. For the GCC buyer, this represents a modern, high-spec family hauler that remains under its initial peak depreciation period.

This Car vs Other 2024 X7s

With 26,000 km on the odometer, this X7 has been driven right at the average for a premium vehicle in the GCC, where long highway commutes between emirates are common. While many xDrive40i models are available, the M60i is a rarer sight on the used market, providing a distinct performance advantage. The Grey finish is a reliable choice for the region, balancing heat rejection better than black while offering higher resale appeal than white for the M-lite trims.

M60i XDRIVE vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the M60i replaces the 3.0L inline-six with a potent 4.4L V8, fundamentally changing the car's character for high-speed highway overtaking. This trim adds the M Sport differential and Integral Active Steering (rear-wheel steering) as standard, which makes maneuvering this large SUV in tight Dubai or Riyadh parking garages significantly easier. You also get the upgraded Harman Kardon audio system and M-specific exterior styling that lower trims lack.

X7 vs Segment Rivals

The X7 M60i competes directly with the Mercedes-Benz GLS 580 and the Range Rover P530. While the GLS focuses on soft ride quality, the BMW leads in driving dynamics and infotainment responsiveness via the Curved Display. Compared to the Range Rover, the X7 offers a more technologically advanced cabin and a more extensive authorized service network across the wider GCC, including smaller cities in Oman and Kuwait.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.4L V8 averages around 12.5 L/100km, though this will rise in stop-start city traffic in Downtown Dubai. BMW's authorized service centers are widely available across all major GCC cities, ensuring parts and technical support are never far away. While high-performance V8 SUVs depreciate faster than Japanese rivals, the M60i retains value better than standard European luxury sedans due to the high regional demand for large, powerful family crossovers.

Performance & Capability

The 530 hp V8 engine allows this seven-seater to hit 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds, providing effortless power for overtaking on the E11 or long cross-border drives. Standard xDrive all-wheel drive and self-levelling air suspension ensure a composed ride even when fully loaded with seven passengers and luggage. The 750 Nm of torque is particularly useful for smooth, rapid acceleration at high cruising speeds common on regional highways.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features a standard seven-seat layout with ample legroom even in the third row, making it a genuine family vehicle rather than a 5+2. High-quality materials and the BMW Curved Display create a modern executive environment, while the powerful quad-zone climate control is specifically designed to handle 45°C+ summer peaks. Acoustic glazing helps isolate the cabin from wind noise during fast highway stretches between major cities.

Safety

This X7 is equipped with a full suite of ADAS features, including Active Blind Spot Detection and Lane Departure Warning, which are essential for navigating fast-moving multi-lane traffic. The 360° camera system and parking sensors are standard, providing vital visibility for a vehicle of this size. BMW's stability control and M Sport brakes offer additional security when driving on sand-dusted or occasional rain-slicked road surfaces.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a buyer who needs the utility of a seven-seater but refuses to sacrifice the power and presence of a V8 BMW. It is a well-maintained, mid-mileage example of the latest X7 generation, ready for both school runs and long-distance GCC road trips.
