Summary

This 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse Premium represents the absolute peak of naturally aspirated muscle in the S650 generation, boasting a rare 500 hp output. With only 5551 km on the odometer, this two-year-old vehicle offers a significant advantage over typical GCC-used sports cars which often see higher usage. The striking Blue paint is a high-demand performance shade in this market, ensuring strong resale appeal. As a Dark Horse, it delivers track-ready cooling and suspension upgrades that make it far more resilient to the intense heat of the UAE than standard trims. This is a collector-grade opportunity for a driver wanting the ultimate modern pony car with near-delivery mileage.

This Car vs Other 2024 Mustangs

While many 2024 models in the UAE market have already surpassed 30,000 km due to frequent inter-emirate highway commuting, this example has been driven minimally at just 5551 km. This low usage preserves the integrity of the Brembo braking system and the complex MagneRide suspension components. The Blue exterior is a highly sought-after performance color in the GCC, typically holding value better than more common white or silver variants for this specific enthusiast model.

DARK HORSE PREMIUM vs Lower Trims

The Dark Horse Premium adds essential track-focused hardware that lower trims lack, such as a 12-speaker B&O sound system, a unique dual-throttle body intake, and enhanced engine cooling. While the GT Premium focuses on luxury, the Dark Horse includes a larger radiator and auxiliary oil coolers that are vital for maintaining performance during GCC summer track days or high-speed highway runs. You also gain a dedicated drift brake and a more aggressive aero package that distinguishes it visually from any other Mustang on the road.

Mustang vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the BMW M4 or Lexus RC F, the Mustang Dark Horse offers a raw, naturally aspirated V8 experience that is becoming increasingly rare in the segment. It features a larger 61-liter fuel tank that provides better touring range for long desert highway drives between Dubai and Riyadh. While European rivals focus on interior refinement, the Mustang leads with its track-standard cooling capacity and a 500 hp Coyote engine that is far simpler and more cost-effective to maintain in the long term.

Running Costs & Resale

The Mustang Dark Horse averages approximately 12.9 L/100km on a combined cycle, though city driving in stop-start traffic like Dubai's Sheikh Zayed Road will see higher consumption. Ford's extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait ensures that specialized parts for the S650 generation are readily available. As a flagship trim, the Dark Horse historically experiences lower depreciation than standard GT models, with strong value retention expected at the 3-year mark due to its limited-production nature.

Performance & Capability

With 500 hp and a 0–100 km/h sprint of 4.4 seconds, the Dark Horse is built for high-performance driving. Its 10-speed automatic transmission is specifically tuned to handle the high-revving nature of the Coyote V8, reaching a top speed of 267 km/h. Standard MagneRide dampers adjust 1,000 times per second, ensuring the car remains flat and composed during high-speed cornering or when navigating the diverse road surfaces of the GCC.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is a high-tech cockpit featuring a 13.2-inch infotainment screen and a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster. For the GCC climate, the Premium trim includes essential ventilated front seats and a powerful dual-zone climate control system designed to neutralize 45°C summer heat rapidly. The cabin is further elevated by the 12-speaker B&O audio system, providing an immersive experience during long-distance drives across the Emirates.

Safety

The 2024 Mustang comes standard with Ford Co-Pilot360, including Pre-Collision Assist and a Lane-Keeping System which are highly effective for fast-moving highway traffic. This trim also features a 360-degree camera and blind-spot monitoring, providing essential visibility for the low-slung coupe body. Its Brembo high-performance braking system offers superior stopping power and fade resistance, a critical safety factor when driving in high-temperature environments.

The bottom line

For the GCC enthusiast, this is a rare chance to own a near-new, range-topping Dark Horse that is mechanically superior to the standard GT and perfectly specced for the local climate.
