Summary

This 2024 Ford Territory Trend is a highly relevant SUV for GCC drivers, offering a modern 1.8L EcoBoost powertrain that balances city efficiency with 190 hp for confident highway overtaking. With mileage sitting just under 50,000 km, it represents a car that has completed its initial break-in period while remaining well within its primary service life. The Ruby Red exterior is a distinctive choice that maintains a professional look, and as a GCC-spec vehicle, it is fully optimized for the region's climate. This trim provides a significant technology boost over the base model, making it a competitive choice for small families or young professionals. In a market where reliability and cabin space are paramount, the Territory stands out for its generous rear legroom and intuitive tech suite.

This Car vs Other 2024 Territorys

With 47,123 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits slightly above the average annual GCC mileage for a 2024 model, reflecting a car that has been primarily used for longer highway commutes between emirates. This usage often leads to less wear on the brakes and transmission compared to stop-start city vehicles. The Ruby Red metallic finish provides a premium aesthetic that sets it apart from the more common white and silver fleet-spec units found in the used market.

Trend vs Lower Trims

Moving up to the Trend trim adds essential GCC comforts including a dual-zone climate control system and a rear-view camera, which are major upgrades over the base Ambiente. It also introduces an electric-powered tailgate and premium vinyl seating, providing a more executive feel without the higher maintenance requirements of the Titanium’s full leather. Technology-wise, the Trend includes the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen and wireless charging as standard, catering to a tech-forward lifestyle.

Territory vs Segment Rivals

The Ford Territory competes directly with the Kia Sportage and Toyota RAV4, leading the segment in rear passenger legroom due to its generous wheelbase. While rivals often rely on naturally aspirated engines, the Territory's 1.8L EcoBoost provides superior low-end torque, making it feel more responsive in fast-moving traffic. Its cabin design is notably more modern, featuring a dual-screen digital cockpit that usually costs significantly more in European competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 1.8L turbocharged engine is efficient for its size, achieving approximately 15.9 km/L under ideal conditions, though GCC drivers should expect higher consumption in summer city traffic. Service intervals are set at 10,000 km, and Ford’s extensive authorized network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia ensures parts availability is never a concern. As a GCC-spec model, it retains value better than American imports, generally depreciating by 12-15% annually in the current market.

Performance & Capability

With 320 Nm of torque delivered early in the rev range, the Territory offers effortless merging onto highways like the E11. The 7-speed dual-clutch transmission is optimized for smooth shifts, and the 190 mm ground clearance allows it to handle gravel tracks and high speed bumps with ease. While front-wheel drive, the selectable drive modes help maintain stability during the rare rainy spells or on sandy residential roads.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for five adults, offering one of the roomiest second rows in the compact SUV class, perfect for family road trips. The air conditioning system is specifically tuned for GCC summers, featuring dedicated rear vents to ensure all passengers stay cool during peak heat. Acoustic glass and high-quality interior materials provide a quiet ride, insulating the cabin from desert wind noise at highway speeds.

Safety

Standard safety for the Trend trim includes a comprehensive airbag system and essential driver aids like Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, which are invaluable on multi-lane highways. It is equipped with Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) as standard, ensuring a high level of protection for all occupants compared to base-spec rivals.

The bottom line

This 2024 Territory Trend is the ideal balance of technology and value for a GCC buyer who needs a spacious, tech-heavy SUV without the premium price tag of a top-tier luxury brand.
