Summary

This 2024 GAC Empow GE represents a sharp opportunity to own a modern, tech-forward sports sedan that stands out in the GCC market. With mileage that aligns perfectly with a single year of typical regional highway use, this GCC-spec unit offers the security of local parts availability and authorized service center support. The black exterior is a high-demand resale choice in the UAE and wider Gulf, ensuring strong value retention when it's time to upgrade. As a GE trim, it balances aggressive styling with a premium cabin that rivals established Japanese and European competitors. For a buyer looking for a reliable yet spirited daily driver that handles the summer heat with ease, this listing is a top-tier choice.

This Car vs Other 2024 Empows

At 56,164 km, this Empow has been utilized primarily for highway commuting, which is typical for modern sedans in the GCC. While the mileage is slightly above the strict 25,000 km annual average, these kilometers are often easier on the powertrain than stop-start city driving. The black paint remains a highly liquid asset in the secondary market, ensuring this car will be easier to trade or sell compared to niche color variants.

GE vs Lower Trims

The GE trim is the flagship for the 1.5L powertrain, adding significant value over the GS and GL variants. You get a larger 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen, along with the full suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Key upgrades for the GCC climate include dual-zone automatic air conditioning and power-folding heated side mirrors, features often omitted on entry-level trims.

Empow vs Segment Rivals

The Empow competes directly with the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla, leading the segment in standard technology and acceleration for the price point. While rivals focus on traditional commuting, the Empow offers a more driver-centric experience with dedicated Sport and Sport+ modes. Its 480-liter boot capacity provides more practical cargo space than many similarly sized luxury-branded compact sedans.

Running Costs & Resale

With a verified combined efficiency of 5.7 L/100km, the Empow is exceptionally light on the wallet during long highway drives across the Emirates. Authorized service centers like Gargash and Al Jomaih provide extensive coverage across the UAE and KSA, ensuring parts are never a concern. GAC has shown strong value retention in the region, typically depreciating at a rate comparable to mid-range European brands while maintaining lower maintenance overhead.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5L turbocharged engine produces 170 hp and 270 Nm of torque, which feels peppy thanks to the 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. Acceleration to 100 km/h is achieved in a verified 7.0 seconds, making highway overtaking effortless. The car features a sophisticated multi-link independent rear suspension, providing a level of high-speed stability and cornering agility rarely found in front-wheel-drive sedans in this bracket.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the Gulf's long-distance driving culture, featuring PVC-leather sport seats with 6-way power adjustability for the driver. The GE trim's dual-zone climate control is powerful enough to handle 45°C+ summer peaks, and rear vents ensure all five passengers remain comfortable. Acoustic insulation is surprisingly good, keeping the cabin quiet even at maximum highway speeds.

Safety

Safety is a primary highlight of the GE trim, which comes standard with six airbags and a comprehensive ADAS platform. This includes Adaptive Cruise Control for effortless travel between cities, Lane Departure Warning, and Forward Collision Warning with Autonomous Emergency Braking. Stability control and hill-hold assist are also standard, providing peace of mind on sand-dusted or wet road surfaces.

The bottom line

This 2024 GAC Empow GE is the ideal match for a young professional or small family who wants the performance and tech of a premium sedan without the premium depreciation.
