Summary

This 2024 GAC GS3 Emzoom Sport Plus offers a compelling entry into the modern compact SUV segment with mileage that sits perfectly within the expected 20,000–25,000 km annual range for the UAE. Finished in a sharp blue that highlights its aggressive 'diamond-cut' design, it holds its value well as a top-spec GCC model with a higher level of technology than most rivals. The Sport Plus trim is the one to have, adding the performance-focused R-Style body kit and 19-inch wheels that make it stand out in any parking lot. For the GCC buyer, the combination of GAC’s joint-venture engineering pedigree and a highly efficient turbo engine makes it a smart daily driver. It handles the summer heat effortlessly with a powerful AC system and cabin materials designed for the local climate.

This Car vs Other 2024 GS3 Emzooms

With just over 26,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle is essentially on par with the average annual usage in the GCC, where 20,000–25,000 km is the benchmark. Unlike lower-mileage examples that may have sat idle, this car’s mileage suggests a healthy, consistent service history suited for local highway commutes. The blue exterior is a vibrant choice that maintains strong appeal in a market often dominated by monochrome tones.

SPORT PLUS vs Lower Trims

The Sport Plus trim significantly upgrades the GS3 experience, most notably adding the R-Style sport exhaust with an active valve for a more boisterous tone when needed. It introduces 19-inch alloy wheels, a 360° surround-view camera, and the essential Fully Automated Parking Assist (FAPA) which are absent on base models. Interior comfort is elevated with ventilated front seats and a power tailgate, features that offer tangible daily benefits in the GCC climate.

GS3 Emzoom vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Geely Coolray and MG ONE, the GS3 Emzoom leads with a class-competitive 0–100 km/h time of 7.5 seconds and a highly versatile 341-litre boot that expands to 1,271 litres. Its 2,650 mm wheelbase is one of the longest in the sub-compact category, providing superior rear legroom for family use. The inclusion of a full Level 2 ADAS suite as standard on this trim gives it a safety tech edge over entry-level configurations of its Japanese and Chinese rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

The 1.5L turbo engine is remarkably efficient, with an official fuel economy of 6.0 L/100km, though real-world GCC stop-start traffic typically sees 7.5–9.0 L/100km. GAC has an established and growing service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with standard service intervals every 10,000 km or 6 months. While European rivals in this segment depreciate faster, GAC’s 2024 models are showing resilient value retention in the used market, typically losing 12–15% in the first two years.

Performance & Capability

The punchy 174 hp turbocharged engine provides 270 Nm of torque, ensuring confident overtaking on fast-moving highways like the E11. Power is delivered through a smooth 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission that manages heat better than dry-clutch alternatives during summer. While strictly a front-wheel-drive crossover, the selectable Sport mode and active exhaust make it one of the most engaging drives in its price bracket.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a tech-forward space featuring a 10.25-inch multifunctional touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay. The near-flat rear floor is a standout feature for this segment, allowing three adults to sit comfortably in the back without a cramped middle seat. GCC-specific comfort is prioritized with dedicated rear AC vents and a panoramic sunroof equipped with a high-quality electric sunshade to deflect midday heat.

Safety

Safety is a primary strength, as the GS3 Emzoom boasts a 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating. This Sport Plus trim comes equipped with a comprehensive Level 2 ADAS suite, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and Autonomous Emergency Braking. With 10 airbags as standard and high-strength steel construction, it provides one of the most secure passenger cells in the sub-compact SUV market.

The bottom line

For a buyer looking for a 2024 crossover that feels futuristic and comes fully loaded, this Sport Plus trim is the definitive choice. It offers the best balance of tech, safety, and performance currently available in the GCC used market for a 2-year-old vehicle.
