Summary

This 2023 GAC GS8 GX offers a compelling opportunity to own a flagship seven-seater with advanced tech and a commanding road presence. As the top-tier GX trim, it features the capable All Wheel Drive system and a luxury-oriented cabin that challenges much more expensive rivals. With its 72,734 km mileage, it has been driven moderately according to typical GCC annual averages, ensuring it remains mechanically fresh for its next owner. The Crystal White exterior is one of the most practical and sought-after colors for the regional used market, known for its superior heat reflection and strong resale profile. For families in the GCC, this model stands out for its blend of powerful air conditioning and high-tech safety features that make long-distance travel across the Emirates effortless.

This Car vs Other 2023 GS8s

With 72,734 km on the odometer over 3 years, this GS8 sits right at the average mileage for the GCC market, where highway commuting often results in 25,000 km annually. The Crystal White finish provides a distinct advantage at resale, as it is the most popular and value-retentive color in the region's secondary market. Choosing this GX trim ensures you have the most complete feature set available for this model year.

GX vs Lower Trims

The GX is the flagship configuration, adding critical luxury and tech features that the GL and GT trims lack. It upgrades the cabin with a massive 14.6-inch HD touchscreen, ventilated front seats for the summer heat, and a more sophisticated ADAS safety suite. Additionally, the GX comes standard with the intelligent All Wheel Drive system and 20-inch alloy wheels, providing better stability and a more premium aesthetic.

GS8 vs Segment Rivals

The GS8 competes directly with established family haulers like the Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade. It distinguishes itself by offering a punchy 2.0L Turbo engine paired with an Aisin 8-speed transmission, delivering a higher torque output than many entry-level V6 rivals. Its value proposition is further strengthened by including premium features as standard that are often expensive options on its Japanese and Korean counterparts.

Running Costs & Resale

The GS8 delivers a combined fuel economy of approximately 12.5 km/L (NEDC), which is efficient for a large 7-seater during highway cruising between cities. GAC has a robust and growing service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, primarily through major distributors like Gargash, ensuring reliable parts availability. While Chinese brands have historically depreciated faster than Japanese icons, the new-generation GS8 holds value well due to its high build quality and the remaining factory warranty common for 3-year-old examples.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 2.0L turbocharged engine, the GS8 produces 248 hp and a robust 400 Nm of torque, which is essential for confident overtaking on fast-moving GCC highways. The All Wheel Drive system features selectable terrain modes including Sand, Mud, and Snow, making it more than capable of handling weekend escapes to the dunes or gravel tracks. The 8-speed automatic transmission provides smooth shifts, maintaining a refined cabin environment even at cruising speeds.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is tailored for the GCC climate, featuring a powerful tri-zone automatic air conditioning system and ventilated front seats to combat summer temperatures. The three-row layout comfortably seats seven, with ample legroom in the second row for adult passengers. Acoustic glass helps isolate the cabin from road and wind noise during long drives, while the panoramic sunroof adds a sense of openness to the premium leather-trimmed interior.

Safety

The GX trim is equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and Forward Collision Warning, which are invaluable for safety on the multi-lane highways of the UAE and KSA. A 360-degree camera system makes parking this large SUV simple in tight urban spaces. Standard safety is bolstered by multiple airbags and a high-strength steel body construction designed to meet international crash standards.

The bottom line

This 2023 GS8 GX is the ideal choice for a family looking for a high-tech, 7-seat flagship SUV that feels like a luxury vehicle without the premium price tag. With its GCC-spec pedigree and desirable color, it represents a smart and safe investment in today's used market.
