Summary

This 2023 GAC GS8 GX is a standout 7-seater that bridges the gap between mass-market and luxury SUVs in the GCC. With a verified 15,664 km, this silver example has been driven significantly less than the typical 25,000 km annual average for the UAE, preserving its mechanical integrity and cabin finish. The top-tier GX trim adds the high-performance 400 Nm torque output and an all-wheel-drive system essential for confident highway overtaking and stable cross-emirate travel. Silver is among the strongest resale colors in the region, resisting desert dust and maintaining its luster in the summer sun. For a buyer seeking modern safety tech and premium features without the Japanese-brand price premium, this GS8 offers exceptional value retention at the 3-year mark.

This Car vs Other 2023 GS8s

At just over 15,000 km, this GS8 sits in the lowest mileage bracket for its model year, where many equivalent 2023 SUVs in the UAE have already crossed the 50,000 km mark. The silver exterior is a highly practical choice for the GCC climate, offering better heat reflection and easier maintenance than darker shades. This low-usage history makes it a primary choice for a buyer prioritizing a vehicle that still feels and smells like new.

GX vs Lower Trims

The GX is the flagship of the GS8 range, adding critical features that lower GL and GT trims lack, such as ventilated front seats—a necessity for UAE summers. It also upgrades the cabin with a massive 14.6-inch central display, a 360-degree camera system for easier parking, and a comprehensive suite of ADAS safety tech. The inclusion of the advanced all-wheel-drive system in this trim provides the extra traction needed for sandy weekend escapes that the front-wheel-drive variants cannot match.

GS8 vs Segment Rivals

The GS8 competes directly with established rivals like the Toyota Highlander and Kia Telluride, but it leads in standard cabin technology and screen size. While competitors often gate features like ventilated seats behind expensive packages, the GS8 GX includes them as standard. Its 2.0L turbocharged engine offers 400 Nm of torque, which provides more low-end punch for city driving than many naturally aspirated V6 competitors in the same segment.

Running Costs & Resale

The GS8 achieves a combined fuel economy of approximately 12.5 km/L, which is efficient for a large 7-seater during long-distance highway commutes between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. GAC has established a strong authorized service network through Gargash in the UAE, with standard service intervals every 10,000 km or 6 months. In the GCC, GAC has seen improving resale values, recently ranking at the top of Chinese brands for 3-year value retention, making it a lower-depreciation alternative to newer market entrants.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L turbocharged engine delivers a punchy 248 hp, allowing the GS8 to reach 100 km/h in approximately 9.5 seconds, which is more than adequate for a vehicle of this size. The 8-speed Aisin automatic transmission is tuned for smooth shifts during highway cruising, while the all-wheel-drive system includes selectable terrain modes for Sand, Mud, and Snow. With a 200 mm ground clearance, it is well-suited for the gravel roads and light desert trails typical of weekend family excursions in the region.

Comfort & Cabin

The GS8 features a 2+3+2 seating layout with a genuinely usable third row and a maximum trunk capacity of 1,859 liters when seats are folded flat. The GCC-specific climate control is exceptionally powerful, featuring dedicated vents and controls for rear passengers to ensure cooling in every row. Premium materials like quilted leather and ambient lighting create an executive feel, while the acoustic glass helps isolate the cabin from wind noise on high-speed desert highways.

Safety

Safety is a priority for the GS8 GX, which comes standard with a full suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). This includes Adaptive Cruise Control for effortless long-distance drives, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind Spot Monitoring to help navigate fast-moving UAE traffic. The vehicle is protected by multiple airbags and a high-strength steel chassis that has earned it a 5-star safety rating in its home market, providing peace of mind for family buyers.

The bottom line

This is a rare opportunity to secure GAC's flagship SUV with exceptionally low mileage, offering a premium 7-seater experience and top-tier safety tech for a fraction of the cost of its Japanese rivals.
