Summary

This 2024 Haval H6 offers a significant value advantage for GCC buyers looking for a modern, tech-forward SUV without the premium price tag of Japanese rivals. With roughly 61,000 km, the mileage is slightly above the regional average for a one-year-old vehicle, but it reflects consistent highway use which is often better for the mechanical longevity of these turbocharged engines compared to stop-start city wear. The grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the region, masking desert dust well while maintaining strong resale appeal. As a GCC-spec model, it is fully optimized for extreme summer heat with a cooling system designed for local conditions. It stands out in the segment by providing premium interior materials and a suite of digital displays that typically cost significantly more in its competitors.

This Car vs Other 2024 Haval H6s

While this H6 has covered 61,673 km, which is higher than the typical 25,000 km annual average in the UAE, it has likely spent much of its life on open highways between Emirates. This often means less wear on the transmission and brakes compared to low-mileage cars used strictly in city traffic. The grey finish is one of the most resilient colors for the GCC climate, offering a neutral and professional look that holds its value well.

MEDIUM vs Lower Trims

The Medium trim is the sweet spot for GCC buyers, adding essential comfort features over the base model such as a 360-degree camera system for easier parking in tight urban spaces. It also includes upgraded interior finishes and a larger infotainment interface, providing a more executive feel during long highway commutes. These specific tech additions are highly sought after in the secondary market, ensuring the car remains competitive at resale.

Haval H6 vs Segment Rivals

The Haval H6 competes directly with the Toyota RAV4 and Mazda CX-5, leading the segment in pure luggage capacity with 600 litres of space—surpassing many established rivals. While the RAV4 is known for its heritage, the H6 offers a significantly more modern digital cockpit and a turbocharged engine that provides better low-end torque for highway overtaking. For families, the generous rear legroom makes it a more practical choice for long cross-border road trips.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 2.0L turbo engine typically averages around 8.7 L/100km on a combined cycle, which is respectable for a mid-sized SUV in GCC traffic. Haval has a rapidly expanding authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with standard service intervals every 10,000 km. While Chinese brands generally depreciate slightly faster than Japanese icons, the lower initial entry price and high feature density make the H6 a strong value proposition over a three-year ownership period.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0-litre turbocharged engine produces 201 hp and 320 Nm of torque, delivering enough punch for confident merging onto fast-moving UAE highways like the E11. Paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, the power delivery is smooth and responsive in city environments. While this is a front-wheel-drive crossover intended for road use, its 170mm ground clearance is more than enough for gravel tracks and weekend trips to the outskirts of the desert.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed with the GCC summer in mind, featuring a powerful dual-zone climate control system and rear air vents to keep all five passengers comfortable in 45-degree heat. The seats are finished in high-quality synthetic leather that remains durable under intense sunlight. Technology is a major highlight, with a crisp digital driver display and a large central touchscreen that supports seamless smartphone integration for navigation across the region.

Safety

Safety is a primary strength, as the H6 carries a 5-star ANCAP rating with high scores for both adult and child protection. This trim comes standard with a comprehensive safety suite including a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, and multiple airbags. These systems are particularly valuable on multi-lane highways in Dubai and Riyadh, providing an extra layer of awareness in fast-moving traffic.

The bottom line

Perfect for the tech-savvy family or professional who wants a late-model SUV with a premium feel and top-tier safety without the usual brand-name markup. This GCC-spec H6 is a proven, reliable workhorse ready for the long-distance drives typical of life in the Emirates.
