Summary

This 2024 Elantra in the Smart trim offers a sophisticated grey exterior that is highly sought after for its strong resale value in the GCC. Built for the daily commute, it strikes a balance between modern sharp-edged styling and the fuel efficiency required for long-distance highway driving between emirates. With its refined 1.6L powertrain and automatic transmission, it provides a smooth experience in both stop-start city traffic and higher-speed cruises. This model remains one of the most reliable choices in the compact sedan segment, backed by an extensive local support network. For a buyer seeking a near-new vehicle that handles the extreme summer heat with ease, this listing represents a sensible and stylish investment.

This Car vs Other 2024 Elantras

As a current model year vehicle, this Elantra offers the latest seventh-generation design language and updated cabin technology. Compared to the average GCC annual usage of 25,000 km, a 2024 model provides a significant advantage in mechanical longevity. The grey exterior is a top-tier choice for the region, ensuring better heat management and faster resale than darker alternatives.

Smart vs Lower Trims

The Smart trim adds essential convenience features over the base model that are highly valued in the GCC, including a smart key with push-button start and cruise control for long desert drives. It also features electric folding mirrors and a rear-view camera with parking sensors, making it much easier to navigate tight parking spaces in busy urban centers like Dubai or Riyadh.

Elantra vs Segment Rivals

The Elantra leads its primary rivals, the Toyota Corolla and Nissan Sentra, with a more futuristic interior design and a generous 474-litre boot that handles family logistics better than many in its class. Its 1.6L engine is specifically optimized for the region's high-speed highway traffic, providing more consistent overtaking power than smaller-displacement competitors. Additionally, the cabin offers class-competitive legroom that rivals larger mid-size sedans.

Running Costs & Resale

With a real-world combined fuel consumption of approximately 6.5L/100km, the Elantra is exceptionally affordable to run in GCC conditions. Hyundai’s authorized service network, managed by Juma Al Majid in the UAE and similar giants across the GCC, ensures parts are readily available and affordable. The model typically sees a low annual depreciation of 8–12%, outperforming most European rivals and matching the high value retention of its Japanese counterparts.

Performance & Capability

The 1.6L 4-cylinder engine produces a reliable 125 hp, allowing for a 0–100 km/h time of 9.5 seconds and a top speed of 209 km/h. On the highway, the 50-litre fuel tank provides a substantial range of over 750 km, reducing the frequency of stops on long-distance trips. The automatic transmission is tuned for comfort, ensuring gear changes are barely perceptible during the daily commute.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is designed to combat the GCC summer with a powerful air conditioning system and dedicated rear cooling vents to keep all passengers comfortable. The interior features high-quality fabric seating that remains cooler than leather in direct sunlight, and the acoustic glass helps isolate the cabin from road noise. Modern connectivity is standard, ensuring seamless integration for navigation during cross-border travel.

Safety

Standard safety features on the Smart trim include dual front airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Electronic Stability Control, which is vital for maintaining traction on sandy road surfaces. The inclusion of a 360-degree sensor suite and a high-definition rear camera provides extra security in high-traffic areas. Hyundai’s reinforced chassis provides a solid safety foundation, making it a trusted choice for family use.

The bottom line

Perfect for the pragmatic GCC commuter, this 2024 Elantra offers a like-new driving experience with the peace of mind of a massive regional service network and excellent resale prospects.
