Summary

This 2024 Santa Fe represents the highly anticipated fifth-generation redesign, offering a bold, boxy aesthetic that maximizes interior volume for seven passengers. With mileage under 60,000 km, this white-exterior unit sits comfortably within the average range for its first year in the GCC market, where white remains the strongest color for heat reflection and resale value. The 2.5-litre Smartstream engine is perfectly suited for city commuting and regional highway travel, providing a refined balance of efficiency and road presence. Compared to its predecessor, this generation features a significantly larger tailgate opening, creating a terrace-like outdoor space ideal for weekend desert trips or beach outings. For a buyer seeking the latest in Hyundai design and technology with GCC-specific specs, this is a versatile and reliable choice.

This Car vs Other 2024 Santa Fes

With approximately 59,500 km, this vehicle has been driven more than the typical 20,000–25,000 km GCC annual average, likely due to regional highway commutes which are common in the UAE. Despite the higher first-year mileage, it remains a mechanically modern example of the latest generation. The white exterior is a primary advantage in the local market, ensuring it retains a higher resale premium compared to darker shades.

Comfort vs Lower Trims

The Comfort trim bridges the gap between basic utility and modern convenience, adding essential features over the base Smart trim. Key upgrades typically include the larger 12.3-inch infotainment display, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and proximity key entry with push-button start. It also includes the hands-free smart liftgate, which is a major convenience for family logistics in the region.

Santa Fe vs Segment Rivals

The Santa Fe competes directly with the Toyota Highlander and Kia Sorento, leading the segment in terms of bold design and tailgate practicality. While the Highlander offers a hybrid-first approach, the Santa Fe's 2.5-litre powertrain provides a simpler, durable alternative with an extensive authorized service network across the UAE and KSA. Its squared-off rear end also provides superior third-row headroom compared to more sloped rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

The Smartstream G2.5 engine is designed for efficiency, achieving a verified combined fuel consumption of approximately 8.0 L/100km, which is competitive for a seven-seater SUV in GCC traffic. Maintenance is straightforward with Hyundai's widespread service network, generally requiring intervals every 10,000 km. Historically, the Santa Fe shows strong value retention, depreciating slightly less than European rivals due to high demand for reliable family crossovers in the local used market.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with the 194 hp 2.5-litre GDi engine, this Santa Fe delivers steady performance with a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 11.5 seconds and a top speed of 195 km/h. The front-wheel-drive configuration is optimized for highway efficiency and city maneuverability, making it ideal for the daily Dubai-Abu Dhabi commute. While not a hardcore off-roader, its 18 cm ground clearance is more than sufficient for gravel tracks and sandy weekend parking spots.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is the standout feature of this generation, offering a 'terrace-style' cabin layout with a flat floor that accommodates seven adults comfortably. The second row features power-release folding, allowing for easy access to the third row or rapid expansion of the cargo area. Dedicated rear air conditioning vents ensure that all passengers remain cool during the extreme GCC summer months, a critical feature for regional family use.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include the Hyundai SmartSense suite, featuring Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind-Spot Collision Warning. Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go is particularly useful for maintaining safety during long highway drives between Emirates. The vehicle also includes multiple airbags and a Rear-Seat Occupant Alert, providing peace of mind for families with children.

The bottom line

For the family buyer who wants the latest design without the brand-new price tag, this GCC-spec 2024 Santa Fe offers modern tech and seven-seat versatility in the region's most popular resale color.
