Summary

This 2024 Kia Pegas EX offers an exceptional entry point into modern, worry-free motoring with a mileage that reflects active use within the GCC's typical driving patterns. Finished in Grey, a practical and strong resale choice for the local market, this top-trim sedan balances essential tech with class-leading cargo capacity. As a two-year-old vehicle, it remains a highly relevant choice for city commuters looking for a car that is notoriously easy to park and maintain. The Pegas stands out by offering a level of interior refinement and luggage space that is often missing in the budget segment. For any buyer in the UAE or wider GCC, the core appeal here is the rock-solid reliability backed by one of the region's most accessible parts and service networks.

This Car vs Other 2024 Pegass

With 59,982 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits within the expected range for a two-year-old car in the GCC, where annual averages typically reach 25,000–30,000 km. While many listings in this segment are former rentals with high wear, this EX trim example presents as a private-use alternative with the benefit of the top-tier feature set. The Grey exterior is a neutral, high-demand color in the Emirates, ensuring better value retention than more niche shades.

EX vs Lower Trims

The EX trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the base LX by adding 14-inch alloy wheels and a one-touch electric sunroof, features that are highly prized in the used market. Inside, the EX replaces standard fabric with two-tone artificial leather upholstery and adds a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Critical safety and convenience additions exclusive to this trim include a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, and cruise control.

Pegas vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the Mitsubishi Attrage or Suzuki Dzire, the Pegas leads with a superior 475-litre boot capacity, making it far more practical for airport runs and family shopping. While the Attrage focuses purely on economy, the Kia offers a more substantial cabin feel and a better-integrated infotainment suite. Its 1.4-liter Kappa engine also provides a smoother highway experience than the three-cylinder units found in some competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel efficiency is a primary strength, with a manufacturer-rated 6.1 L/100km that allows for a total range of approximately 700 km from the 43-litre tank. Maintenance is affordable and convenient thanks to Kia's vast network of authorized service centers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. Historically, the Pegas experiences a predictable depreciation rate of roughly 12-15% annually in the GCC, making it a safe financial bet for short-to-medium term ownership.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 1.4L 4-cylinder engine producing 95 hp, the Pegas is perfectly tuned for urban environments and steady highway cruising between emirates. The 4-speed automatic transmission is designed for durability and smooth shifts in stop-start traffic, avoiding the complexities of CVTs used by some rivals. With a tight 5.2m turning radius, it handles narrow city streets and crowded parking garages with ease.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is optimized for the GCC climate, featuring a powerful air conditioning system and 360-degree rotatable air vents to ensure rapid cooling during summer months. The EX-exclusive two-tone leatherette seats offer a more premium feel and are easier to clean than fabric alternatives. Despite its compact exterior dimensions, the clever wheelbase design provides generous legroom for all five passengers, making it suitable for small families.

Safety

Safety is managed by a suite of essential systems including dual front airbags, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Electronic Stability Control (ESC). The EX trim adds layers of protection with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and a rearview camera that integrates with the 7-inch display. These features are particularly useful on busy UAE multi-lane highways and in tight urban parking scenarios.

The bottom line

This 2024 Kia Pegas EX is the ideal choice for a savvy commuter or a small family seeking the best possible spec in a compact, fuel-efficient package. It represents a balanced opportunity to own a late-model, top-trim Korean sedan with a proven track record for reliability in the GCC.
