Summary

This 2024 Mazda 6 S represents a compelling opportunity for GCC buyers seeking a nearly-new sedan that prioritizes driving dynamics over generic commuting. With only 60,000 km, its mileage reflects typical highway-heavy usage in the region while remaining well within its peak mechanical life. The deep Blue exterior is a sophisticated choice that maintains strong resale appeal across the UAE and wider GCC used markets. Compared to its peers, the Mazda 6 stands out for its premium cabin materials and 'KODO' design language that gives it a luxury-tier presence. For a resident in the Emirates or Saudi Arabia, this is a reliable daily workhorse that transitions perfectly to long-distance inter-city cruises.

This Car vs Other 2024 Mazda 6s

At 60,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is average for a 2024 model in the GCC, where annual driving frequently exceeds 25,000 km due to long-distance highway commutes. The deep Blue finish is a highly sought-after alternative to the standard white or silver, offering excellent resale stability. Buying a 2024 model second-hand allows you to bypass the steepest initial depreciation while still enjoying a vehicle that feels and drives like new.

S vs Lower Trims

The S trim (often referred to as the Pure or Core grade in specific GCC markets) provides the essential Skyactiv-G 2.5L engine performance that many entry-level 2.0L models lack. It includes crucial GCC comfort features like dual-zone automatic climate control with rear AC vents, ensuring all passengers stay cool during peak summer. You also benefit from 17-inch alloy wheels and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, elevating the cabin experience over more basic fleet-oriented trims.

Mazda 6 vs Segment Rivals

The Mazda 6 is frequently cross-shopped with the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. While the Camry is prized for its utility, the Mazda 6 leads the segment in driving engagement and interior tactile quality, using soft-touch materials that rival entry-level luxury brands. Its 62-litre fuel tank is well-suited for the long stretches between major GCC cities, providing a range that minimizes frequent refueling stops on the E11 or highway to Riyadh.

Running Costs & Resale

Mazda's 2.5L engine is optimized for high-temperature durability, with a real-world combined fuel consumption of approximately 8.2 L/100km in GCC conditions. Authorized service centers are widely available across the UAE, KSA, and Kuwait, with standard service intervals every 10,000 km. Historically, Japanese sedans like the Mazda 6 retain their value exceptionally well in the local market, typically depreciating at a slower rate than European or American rivals.

Performance & Capability

The 185 hp engine delivers a top speed of 220 km/h, providing ample power for confident highway overtaking on fast-moving GCC roads. The 6-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness, avoiding the 'rubber-band' feel of CVT gearboxes found in many competitors. Its front-wheel-drive architecture and G-Vectoring Control Plus system provide predictable handling on both hot tarmac and the occasional sand-dusted road surface.

Comfort & Cabin

The 5-seat cabin is designed around the 'Human-Centric' philosophy, featuring ergonomic seats that reduce fatigue on long desert drives. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated cooling vents, a must-have for the GCC climate to ensure rapid cabin cooldown after being parked in the sun. The 429-litre boot space is generous enough for family airport runs or weekly grocery trips, while the acoustic insulation keeps the cabin quiet at highway speeds.

Safety

This trim comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including 6 airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) to maintain traction on varying road conditions. Rear parking sensors and a rearview camera are standard, making it easy to navigate tight parking spots in busy urban centers like Dubai or Doha. The Mazda 6 also includes ISOFIX child seat anchors, reinforcing its suitability as a safe and reliable family sedan.

The bottom line

Perfect for the professional or small family who wants Japanese reliability without sacrificing style, this 2024 Mazda 6 is a sharp, low-hassle choice for the GCC driver.
