Summary

This 2024 Mazda CX-5 GL represents a refined entry into the compact SUV segment, offering a premium interior feel that rivals more expensive European crossovers. With 55,620 km, the mileage is slightly above the regional annual average but reflects a vehicle well-suited for long highway commutes between major GCC cities. The Deep Crystal Blue exterior is a sophisticated choice that maintains strong appeal in the secondary market compared to standard silver or white. As a GCC-spec model, it is factory-equipped to handle extreme local heat, ensuring the air conditioning and powertrain remain efficient during peak summer months. For buyers seeking a stylish, reliable daily driver with modern Japanese engineering, this listing provides a nearly new experience with proven reliability.

This Car vs Other 2024 Mazda CX-5s

While the mileage is slightly higher than the typical GCC average for a single year, this vehicle's mechanical health is supported by the brand's reputation for longevity. The Deep Crystal Blue paint is a high-demand color in the UAE and wider GCC, often commanding a quicker sale than more common neutral tones. Being a 2024 model, it benefits from the latest refinements in cabin insulation and suspension tuning.

GL vs Lower Trims

The GL trim serves as a well-equipped mid-tier option in the GCC, offering a 10.25-inch Mazda Connect infotainment display and integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Unlike basic entry-level trims, it typically includes upgraded LED headlights and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, features that local buyers prioritize for both comfort and resale value. The inclusion of advanced safety tech like blind-spot monitoring is a significant step up over base models.

Mazda CX-5 vs Segment Rivals

The CX-5 stands out against rivals like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V by offering a more driver-centric cabin and premium soft-touch materials. While competitors focus on outright utility, the Mazda provides superior noise vibration and harshness (NVH) levels, making it much more comfortable for long desert highway drives. Its 6-speed automatic transmission offers a more traditional and engaging feel compared to the CVTs often found in this segment.

Running Costs & Resale

With a combined fuel consumption of roughly 7.4 L/100km, the 2.0L engine is efficient for city commuting in Dubai or Riyadh. Mazda enjoys one of the most robust authorized service networks across the GCC, ensuring parts and maintenance are easily accessible from Kuwait to Oman. Historically, the CX-5 retains approximately 55-60% of its value after three years in the local market, making it a stable investment compared to many European luxury SUVs.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L Skyactiv-G engine delivers smooth, linear power ideal for urban navigation and steady highway cruising. Its four-wheel-drive system provides added confidence on gravel tracks and during occasional rainy spells on slick city roads. While not a hardcore off-roader, the ground clearance is perfectly suited for weekend escapes to light desert trails or beach areas across the Emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed with the GCC climate in mind, featuring a powerful dual-zone automatic climate control system that quickly cools the interior. High-quality fabric or leatherette upholstery stays cooler than dark leather in direct sunlight, while the rear cooling vents ensure passenger comfort during summer. The 442-litre boot space is ample for family shopping trips or weekend luggage for a trip to Jebel Jais.

Safety

Safety is a hallmark of this trim, featuring a suite of six airbags and Mazda's i-Activsense technology. Standard features include Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, which are indispensable for navigating the fast-moving multi-lane highways of the GCC. The 5-star safety rating from international bodies ensures peace of mind for family-oriented buyers.

The bottom line

Perfect for the professional or small family who wants a premium Japanese SUV experience without the new-car price tag. This GCC-spec CX-5 is a reliable, stylish, and sensible choice for navigating local life with confidence.
