Summary

This specific high-performance SUV represents a unique opportunity for a GCC buyer who wants current-model-year technology without the delay of a new order. For a 2024 model, the 31,000 km mileage is higher than the typical UAE average of 20,000 km, suggesting it has been used primarily for long-distance highway travel where engine wear is much lower than in stop-start city traffic. The striking blue exterior offers a refreshing alternative to the common grayscale palette found in local car parks while maintaining high desirability for the performance-focused AMG demographic. This car stands out by offering the world's most powerful production four-cylinder engine combined with advanced hybrid tech, making it a pioneer in its class. In the GCC, the most important consideration for this European-spec vehicle is ensuring it has been professionally adapted for the high ambient temperatures of the desert, particularly regarding the high-output hybrid battery cooling. It is a compelling buy for an early adopter looking for the fastest compact SUV currently on the market.

This Car vs Other 2024 GLC 63 AMGs

While many 2024 models in the UAE are kept as low-mileage weekend toys, this car's 31,000 km shows it was purchased to be driven as a daily commuter. In the GCC market, this level of usage for a vehicle less than a year old usually indicates a lifecycle spent on well-paved highways between cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. While higher than average, this mileage often means the vehicle is fully broken in and any initial factory software glitches common in new hybrid platforms have likely been resolved. The blue paint is a standout feature, as it sits in the 'premium color' bracket for AMG enthusiasts, unlike more common fleet-style colors. For a European-spec car in this region, the condition of the interior leather and plastics suggests it has been shielded from the intense UV rays that typically degrade imported cars. It presents a more accessible entry point into the newest generation of AMG performance for a buyer who values recent model updates over showroom-zero mileage.

S E-PERFORMANCE vs Lower Trims

Choosing this top-tier trim over the standard GLC 43 or AMG Line trims changes the driving experience entirely. You are getting the P3 Hybrid powertrain, which allows for short-distance silent electric driving—perfect for navigating residential communities in the early morning without disturbing neighbors. Inside, this trim upgrades you to the Burmester Surround Sound system and the MBUX Supercreen, features that are often optional or simplified on lower trims. You also receive the AMG Performance seats with enhanced ventilation, a critical feature for staying comfortable during the seven-month GCC summer. The exterior receives the aggressive Panamericana grille and wider fenders that distinguish the S E-Performance as the flagship of the range. Additionally, standard features like the 360-degree camera system and advanced head-up display are included, whereas they are frequently added as expensive packs on mid-range models.

GLC 63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

This vehicle competes directly with the BMW X3 M Competition and the Porsche Macan GTS, yet it takes a radically different approach to power. While rivals rely on larger six-cylinder engines, this Mercedes uses a Formula 1-inspired electric exhaust gas turbocharger to deliver 680 horsepower, making it significantly more powerful than its German competitors. Its hybrid system allows for 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive that can shift torque instantly, providing better traction on the sandy surface dust often found on UAE roads. The cabin insulation and air conditioning performance of the GLC are generally regarded as more robust for desert heat than the sportier but thinner insulation of the Macan. For long highway hauls across the Oman border or up to Ras Al Khaimah, the adaptive damping offers a more compliant ride than the often overly stiff suspension of the X3 M. It effectively bridges the gap between a track-ready monster and a sophisticated daily-use luxury SUV.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption is impressive for a 680-hp vehicle, particularly in the heavy traffic of Downtown Dubai, where the electric motor handles the low-speed crawling. On the highway, you can expect efficient cruising, though the high-strung nature of the hand-built engine requires strictly 98-octane Super fuel to maintain performance. Mercedes-Benz has an extensive authorized service network with major hubs like Gargash and Al-Fahim in the UAE, plus strong representation in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. As a European-spec car, the depreciation is slightly steeper in the first two years compared to a GCC-spec equivalent, typically around 15-18% annually. However, because this is the latest generation and the flagship S E-Performance, it will likely hold a premium over older V8 models for buyers seeking the most modern technology. Prospective owners should verify the remaining balance of any international service packages that may apply to this VIN.

Performance & Capability

The most impressive figure is the 680 horsepower coupled with a staggering 1,020 Nm of torque, which allows this SUV to sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. This level of acceleration is helpful for merging into high-speed lanes on the E11 or overtaking long convoys on two-lane roads. Despite being an SUV, the rear-axle steering makes it incredibly agile in tight city parking structures and during high-speed cornering. The 4MATIC+ system is fully variable, meaning it can handle light gravel or sandy gradients if you take a weekend trip to a wadi, though the car is clearly tuned more for pavement than dunes. With multiple drive modes, you can transition from a quiet electric cruiser to a loud, aggressive sports car at the touch of a button. Its ground clearance is sufficient for standard speed bumps and urban obstacles found throughout GCC cities, making it a versatile tool for any road condition.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a 5-seater masterclass in modern digital luxury, featuring the latest MBUX infotainment system that is highly intuitive. For the GCC climate, the dual-zone climate control is supplemented by high-capacity cooling fans that are designed to bring the temperature down rapidly after the car has been parked in the sun. The AMG Performance seats provide excellent lateral support during spirited drives while remains comfortable for the two-hour journey from Al Ain to Dubai. Ambient lighting with 64 colors allows you to set the nighttime mood, while the panoramic sunroof features high-quality tinting to block significant solar heat. The use of carbon fiber and Alcantara throughout the cabin gives it a bespoke feel that matches its high-performance mechanicals. Rear passengers enjoy dedicated air vents and enough legroom to feel comfortable on long cross-country road trips.

Safety

Safety is paramount in this high-velocity SUV, which comes standard with the Mercedes-Benz Driver Assistance Package. This includes Distronic Plus cruise control, which is essential for managing the variable speeds of UAE highway traffic. Active Blind Spot Assist is particularly valuable on multi-lane roads like Sheikh Zayed Road, where cars often change lanes rapidly. The vehicle also features Pre-Safe Impulse Side, which can move the driver or passenger away from a side impact just before it occurs. High-performance composite brakes ensure that the massive power can be brought to a halt reliably, even in the extreme heat which can cause brake fade in lesser cars. Adaptive LED headlights provide exceptional visibility during nighttime desert drives, ensuring that unlit sections of road are fully illuminated well in advance.

The bottom line

This 2024 GLC 63 S E-Performance is the perfect match for a tech-savvy driver who wants the fastest SUV in its class and is ready to embrace the future of hybrid performance. While it is a European-spec vehicle with slightly higher mileage, it represents a significant saving over a showroom-new model while still being the most current generation on the road.
