Summary

This 2026 Ford Explorer ST offers a rare combination of seven-seat utility and genuine sports car performance. With just 784 km on the odometer, it is essentially a new vehicle, providing a significant advantage over typical GCC used market listings that average 25,000 km per year. The Grey exterior is a versatile, high-demand choice that balances modern aesthetics with strong resale potential in the region. As the performance-oriented ST trim, it features a sport-tuned suspension and a high-output powertrain that outclasses standard family crossovers. For a GCC buyer, this represents an opportunity to secure a near-delivery mileage performance SUV with full regional suitability and a robust local service network.

This Car vs Other 2026 Explorer STs

With only 784 km, this vehicle sits in the top tier of the GCC used market, offering virtually zero wear compared to typical first-year examples. Most 2026 models currently appearing for resale have significantly higher mileage due to the long-distance highway commutes common in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The Grey finish is a strategic choice for the region, offering a sophisticated look while being easier to maintain than black in dusty GCC environments.

ST vs Lower Trims

The ST is a complete mechanical departure from the ST-Line and Active trims, replacing the 4-cylinder engine with a 400 hp twin-turbo V6. It gains performance-specific hardware including larger brakes, a sport-tuned suspension, and paddle shifters for the 10-speed automatic. Inside, the ST adds premium features like ventilated front seats and a 14-speaker B&O sound system that are often optional or unavailable on lower configurations.

Explorer vs Segment Rivals

The Explorer ST leads competitors like the Toyota Highlander and Honda Pilot by offering a rear-biased all-wheel-drive system and significantly more horsepower for highway overtaking. While rivals focus on efficiency, the ST caters to GCC drivers who need three-row space but refuse to compromise on driving dynamics. Its 5,000 lbs towing capacity also makes it a more capable choice for hauling jet skis or weekend trailers compared to softer crossovers.

Running Costs & Resale

Expect a combined fuel consumption of approximately 11.2 L/100km, with highway efficiency benefiting from the 10-speed automatic during long cross-border drives. Ford has an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, KSA, and Kuwait, with standard service intervals at every 10,000 km. The ST trim typically retains a higher percentage of its value than standard trims in the GCC, as performance enthusiasts specifically seek out the high-output V6 at resale.

Performance & Capability

The 3.0L twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 delivers 400 hp and 563 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h time of just 5.1 seconds. This power is managed by a sport-tuned suspension that stays composed during high-speed highway cruising between emirates. With multiple selectable drive modes including a dedicated Sport setting, the ST adapts instantly to GCC road conditions, providing confidence during rapid overtakes and stable handling on varying surfaces.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin accommodates seven passengers comfortably, featuring ventilated front seats that are essential for the GCC's peak summer months. A dual-zone or three-zone climate control system ensures high-capacity cooling for the rear rows, even in temperatures exceeding 45°C. The interior is anchored by a 13.2-inch touchscreen with Google built-in, providing seamless navigation across the region's expanding road networks.

Safety

The 2026 Explorer ST comes standard with the full Ford Co-Pilot360 suite, featuring blind-spot monitoring and cross-traffic alert which are vital for multi-lane highway driving in Dubai and Riyadh. Adaptive cruise control with lane centering helps reduce fatigue during long desert highway stretches, while the 360-degree camera system makes maneuvering this large SUV in tight urban parking effortless. Its 5-star NHTSA safety rating provides maximum peace of mind for family transport.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for the family driver who wants the performance of a sports sedan with the practical 7-seat layout required for GCC life. With near-zero mileage and a high-demand spec, it offers a new-car experience without the initial showroom depreciation.
