Summary

This 2024 Outlander in the Highline trim is an ideal choice for GCC families who need a tech-forward three-row SUV without the premium price tag of European rivals. The white exterior is a strategic advantage in the region, offering the best possible heat reflection during summer and ensuring high liquidity in the used market. Since the redesigned generation launched, the Outlander has stood out for its bold presence and a cabin that significantly outclasses its predecessors in refinement. This specific car strikes a great balance, offering the latest safety tech and 7-seat flexibility while benefitting from the widespread Mitsubishi service network across the Emirates and neighboring countries.

This Car vs Other 2024 Outlanders

With just over 71,000 km, this vehicle has been actively used, which is typical for family cars covering long distances between Emirates. While higher than some low-use examples, it reflects a consistent driving history on UAE highways where mechanical stress is often lower than in stop-start city environments. The white color is the highest-demand shade in the local market, making it significantly easier to resell compared to darker or niche colors.

GLX HIGHLINE vs Lower Trims

The GLX Highline trim provides essential upgrades that GCC buyers value, including a 360° camera system that makes parking in tight urban malls much safer. Unlike the base GLX, this trim adds advanced safety sensors and driver assistance features that are typically reserved for the top-spec models. You also benefit from a more premium interior finish and enhanced tech interfaces that make long desert highway drives more comfortable for the whole family.

Outlander vs Segment Rivals

The Outlander holds a unique position against the Nissan X-Trail and Toyota RAV4 by offering a more usable third row for families in a similarly sized footprint. Its 2.5L engine is specifically tuned for a balance of efficiency and smooth highway cruising, holding its own against the Honda CR-V in terms of cabin quietness and modern dashboard tech. Mitsubishi’s extensive network in the UAE and Saudi Arabia often gives it a lower long-term service cost advantage over more specialized crossover brands.

Running Costs & Resale

Mitsubishi maintains one of the strongest service footprints in the GCC, ensuring parts are affordable and specialized mechanics are available in every major city. Real-world fuel consumption averages around 8.9 L/100km, which is efficient for a 7-seat SUV during mixed highway and city commutes. Resale value for the Outlander has improved significantly with this new generation, typically seeing a depreciation rate of approximately 10-12% annually, which is competitive for the Japanese SUV segment.

Performance & Capability

The 2.5L 4-cylinder engine produces 181 hp and 245 Nm of torque, providing smooth and reliable power for daily duties and weekend road trips. Paired with a CVT transmission, it is designed for fuel efficiency and linear acceleration rather than off-road stunts, making it perfect for the fast-moving multi-lane highways of the UAE. With a ground clearance of approximately 199 mm, it easily handles gravel tracks and sandy patches during family outings to the desert fringe or wadis.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed to accommodate 7 passengers across three rows, with the second row offering generous sliding and reclining functions to maximize legroom. For the GCC climate, the air conditioning system is notably powerful, featuring dedicated rear vents to ensure all passengers stay cool during the peak summer months. The modern 12.3-inch digital display and integrated smartphone connectivity provide a premium feel that is rare for a vehicle in this price bracket.

Safety

This Highline trim is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Forward Collision Mitigation, Blind Spot Warning, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, which are vital for safety on high-speed regional highways. The 360-degree multi-view camera provides a bird's-eye perspective to help navigate tight spaces, while multiple airbags and a reinforced body structure earned this generation a 5-star rating in international safety testing. It also includes driver attention alerts and lane-keeping assistance to support safety on long-distance cross-border drives.

The bottom line

This 2024 Outlander Highline is the perfect opportunity for a family buyer looking for a modern, high-spec SUV with the reliability and resale security that only a GCC-spec Japanese brand can provide.
