Summary

This 2024 Outlander offers a modern, versatile seven-seat layout that stands out in the compact SUV segment for its bold design and shared mechanical pedigree with the Nissan X-Trail. With just 30,000 km, this vehicle remains in excellent mechanical health for the local market, where highway-intensive driving typically puts higher strain on newer cars. The black exterior is a perennial favorite for resale in the GCC, ensuring strong demand when it comes time to upgrade. As a Canadian-spec model, it includes cold-weather features often absent from local cars, though the core 2.5L powertrain remains identical to regional versions for easy servicing. For family buyers in the Gulf, this Outlander provides a reliable, high-spec alternative to larger, more expensive SUVs.

This Car vs Other 2024 Outlanders

With 30,000 km, this Outlander has been driven slightly above the typical 20,000–25,000 km GCC annual average but remains well within its primary service life. The black exterior is a premium resale choice in the region, offering better value retention than more niche colors. Being a Canadian-spec vehicle, it provides unique features like a heated steering wheel that add a touch of luxury during cooler winter mornings in the desert.

GLX MIDLINE vs Lower Trims

The GLX MIDLINE trim upgrades the ownership experience with 18-inch alloy wheels and enhanced interior materials compared to the base ES trim. It ensures passenger comfort with a dedicated rear-seat climate zone and multiple USB charging ports, which are essential for GCC family road trips. This trim also standardizes the 7-seat configuration, providing the maximum utility available in this model year.

Outlander vs Segment Rivals

The Outlander holds a unique advantage over the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 by offering a standard third row of seating, allowing for seven passengers in a compact footprint. While it shares a powertrain with the Nissan X-Trail, the Outlander is often favored for its more aggressive 'Dynamic Shield' styling and Mitsubishi's Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system. Its ground clearance is competitive for the segment, making it suitable for gravel tracks and sandy beach access.

Running Costs & Resale

Mitsubishi maintains one of the most extensive authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts availability even for imported specs. The 2.5L engine is optimized for fuel efficiency, typically returning between 8.0L and 9.0L per 100km on long GCC highway runs between emirates. While Canadian-spec cars may trade at a slight discount compared to GCC-spec equivalents, the Outlander generally retains roughly 85% of its value after the first year in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 181 hp MIVEC engine provides reliable power for overtaking on the E11 highway, paired with a CVT designed for smooth city commuting. With a 213 mm ground clearance, this SUV handles high speed bumps and minor off-road terrain with ease. It is rated for a 907 kg braked towing capacity, sufficient for hauling jet skis or small utility trailers for weekend adventures.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for family logistics, featuring 40/20/40 split-folding second-row seats that allow for flexible cargo and passenger arrangements. The air conditioning system is robust, featuring dedicated rear vents to ensure all seven passengers remain cool during the peak Gulf summer. High-quality cabin insulation minimizes road noise during long-distance drives across the region.

Safety

This Outlander comes standard with a comprehensive safety suite including Front Collision Mitigation, Blind Spot Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, which are vital for fast-paced UAE highway traffic. The vehicle is equipped with multiple airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag, and features Trailer Stability Assist to maintain control when towing.

The bottom line

This 2024 Outlander GLX MIDLINE is an ideal choice for a growing family seeking the versatility of seven seats and the security of all-wheel drive in a nearly new package.
