Summary

This Pathfinder SL represents a refined family SUV that perfectly balances modern tech with established reliability in the local market. Having covered 26,621 km in two years, its mileage is exactly in line with expected GCC highway use, suggesting a vehicle that has been used consistently without excessive wear. The SL trim is a significant step up, offering the leather interiors and advanced cameras that local buyers prioritize for both comfort and resale value. As a GCC-spec model, it benefits from a robust cooling system and a massive service network that spans every major city in the region. For a growing family needing eight seats and a smooth V6, this is a highly logical choice that avoids the steep initial depreciation of a brand-new car.

This Car vs Other 2024 Pathfinders

With a mileage of 26,621 km over two years, this vehicle sits comfortably at the average for the GCC, where 20,000–25,000 km per year is the standard for family SUVs. The white exterior is the highest-demand color in the regional used market, ensuring faster resale and better heat reflection during the summer months. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it carries the correct radiator and AC specifications required to maintain performance in 45 degree plus temperatures.

SL vs Lower Trims

The SL trim adds critical luxury and tech features that the SV lacks, most notably the Intelligent Around View 360-degree camera which is essential for parking a vehicle of this size in tight urban spaces. Inside, you receive genuine leather-appointed seating and a larger 9-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity and navigation. It also includes the wireless charging pad and a power-adjustable passenger seat, making the cabin significantly more premium for long-distance family travel.

Pathfinder vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Toyota Highlander or Honda Pilot, the Pathfinder leads with its smooth 9-speed automatic transmission which replaced the older CVT, offering a more traditional and robust driving feel on the highway. Its eight-seat configuration remains one of the most practical in the segment, providing a flat-folding third row that is easier to operate than many rivals. Nissan's Intelligent 4x4 system with dedicated Sand and Mud/Rut modes also gives it a slight edge for weekend family trips to the desert fridge.

Running Costs & Resale

Nissan maintains one of the most extensive authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, making parts and maintenance exceptionally accessible. The 3.5L V6 is a proven engine in the region, typically requiring service every 10,000 km with predictable costs. Fuel consumption is competitive for an 8-seater, averaging approximately 10.6 L/100km combined, which is efficient for cross-emirate commutes. Historically, GCC-spec Pathfinders retain roughly 65-70% of their value after three years, outperforming many American and European competitors.

Performance & Capability

The 271 hp V6 engine provides linear power that is ideal for overtaking on high-speed motorways like the E11. With a standard braked towing capacity of 1,588 kg, it is more than capable of hauling jet skis or a small trailer for weekend adventures. The All-Wheel Drive system features seven selectable drive modes, including a dedicated Sand mode that optimizes torque delivery for soft surfaces, providing peace of mind during off-road excursions.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the GCC climate, featuring a powerful Tri-Zone automatic climate control system with dedicated vents for all three rows to ensure every passenger stays cool. Insulation is excellent, keeping road noise to a minimum even at highway speeds, while the leather seats are designed for durability against the sun. With all seats in place, there is still usable cargo space, and the second-row EZ FLEX system allows easy access to the back even with a child seat installed.

Safety

Safety is a primary focus with the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite included as standard, featuring automatic emergency braking, blind-spot intervention, and rear cross-traffic alert. The SL trim specifically benefits from ProPILOT Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control and steering assist to reduce driver fatigue during long desert highway drives. It also features a full array of airbags, including side-impact curtains that protect passengers in all three rows.

The bottom line

For a GCC buyer seeking a modern, tech-rich 8-seater that holds its value, this 2024 Pathfinder SL is a safe and sophisticated investment that is perfectly suited to the local environment.
