Summary

This 2-year-old Nissan Sunny SV represents one of the most practical entry points into the 2024 model year, offering a modern aesthetic with the updated V-motion grille. As a white GCC-spec sedan, it occupies the strongest possible resale position in the local market, where light colors and regional cooling systems are highly prized. The SV trim provides a significant jump in daily usability over base models, including a 7-inch infotainment screen and a rearview camera. In the GCC context, this vehicle stands out for its exceptional fuel economy, making it an ideal choice for high-mileage commuters navigating between the Emirates. Ownership of a Nissan in this region ensures total peace of mind thanks to an unrivaled network of service centers and affordable spare parts.

This Car vs Other 2024 Sunnys

With 79,085 km on the odometer, this car has been driven roughly 39,500 km per year, which is above the typical GCC average of 25,000 km. However, this highway-heavy mileage is standard for daily commuters in the region and is offset by the car being only 2 years old, meaning the mechanical components are still very fresh. The white exterior is the gold standard for UAE resale, reflecting heat more effectively than darker tones and holding its value better when it is time to upgrade.

SV vs Lower Trims

The SV trim is a major upgrade for the 2024 model year, adding the 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto which is absent on the fleet-focused S trim. Buyers also benefit from 16-inch alloy wheels instead of steel rims, a rearview camera for easier parking, and a premium 6-speaker audio system. These additions make the cabin a much more comfortable place for the long highway drives typical across the GCC.

Sunny vs Segment Rivals

The Sunny leads its segment, including rivals like the Toyota Yaris and Kia Pegas, when it comes to interior volume and rear-seat legroom. Its 425-litre boot is deep and wide, easily accommodating large grocery runs or family luggage better than most sub-compact competitors. Additionally, the Nissan air conditioning system is widely regarded in the Middle East for its superior cooling performance during the peak summer months.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 5.6 L/100km, which is remarkably efficient for a non-hybrid in GCC stop-start traffic. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains the highest resale demand and is fully compatible with authorized service centers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. The Sunny typically experiences a steady 10-12% annual depreciation in the GCC, performing better than European rivals in the same price bracket due to its reputation for bulletproof reliability.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine is built for efficiency rather than speed, providing a smooth and predictable experience in city traffic. On the highway, the Xtronic CVT ensures the car cruises at low RPMs to maximize fuel savings during cross-country trips. Its front-wheel-drive setup and tight turning circle make it exceptionally easy to maneuver through the narrow parking garages found in Dubai and Riyadh.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features segment-first Zero Gravity front seats designed to reduce fatigue on long journeys between emirates. The air conditioning system includes dedicated rear vents to ensure all five passengers stay cool even when temperatures exceed 45°C. Practicality is enhanced by a 60/40 split-folding rear seat and ample storage pockets in all four doors for water bottles and essentials.

Safety

Safety is a priority in the 2024 SV trim, which comes standard with a rearview camera and rear parking sensors to prevent low-speed collisions. The vehicle is equipped with dual front airbags, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), and Traction Control to maintain stability on sandy or rain-slicked road surfaces. Additionally, the Hill Start Assist feature is particularly useful for the inclined exits found in many regional shopping mall parking structures.

The bottom line

This 2024 Sunny SV is the perfect opportunity for a budget-conscious professional or a small family looking for a nearly new car with the best possible resale spec in the GCC. It offers the latest technology and cooling efficiency in a package that is famously inexpensive to maintain.
