Summary

This Nissan X-Trail SL represents a premium opportunity in the family SUV segment, offering the highest available trim level for the 2024 model year. With a mileage of 42,582 km at two years old, it aligns perfectly with typical GCC annual driving patterns of roughly 21,000 km per year. The grey exterior is a neutral, high-demand choice in the UAE, ensuring strong resale liquidity compared to niche colors. As the top-spec SL variant, it provides a luxury-tier cabin experience that distinguishes it from the more common base trims found in regional traffic. For a GCC buyer, this is a versatile seven-seater that balances refined technology with a proven drivetrain built for local conditions.

This Car vs Other 2024 X-Trails

At 42,582 km, this vehicle's mileage is exactly average for a two-year-old car in the GCC, where 20,000–25,000 km per year is standard. Choosing this 2024 model provides the latest generation's interior refinements while avoiding the steep initial depreciation of a brand-new unit. The grey exterior is among the most sought-after tones in the UAE market, consistently supporting higher resale values.

SL vs Lower Trims

The SL trim adds critical features that GCC buyers prioritize, including 19-inch alloy wheels and a premium Bose sound system not found on the S or SV trims. It is the only variant to offer the Intelligent Rear View Mirror and the full ProPILOT Assist suite as standard. Inside, you benefit from genuine leather upholstery and a larger 12.3-inch digital cockpit, creating a significantly more upscale environment for long-distance family travel.

X-Trail vs Segment Rivals

The X-Trail leads rivals like the Toyota RAV4 and Mazda CX-5 by offering a usable seven-seat configuration in a compact footprint, a rarity in this class. Its NASA-inspired Zero Gravity seats provide superior comfort for cross-emirate drives compared to the firmer seating in the Hyundai Tucson. Furthermore, Nissan’s Intelligent 4x4 system offers specific terrain modes that handle light sand and gravel trails better than most road-biased crossovers.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.5L engine averages approximately 7.4 L/100km on highways, making it efficient for commuters traveling between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Nissan boasts one of the most extensive authorized service networks across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts are always readily available. Historically, the X-Trail retains roughly 60-70% of its value after three years in the GCC, outperforming many European competitors in depreciation terms.

Performance & Capability

The 2.5-liter engine delivers 181 hp, providing smooth power delivery through an optimized CVT for highway overtaking. The Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system features five selectable modes, including specific settings for Snow and Off-road to manage regional weekend adventures. With 210 mm of ground clearance, it confidently handles high curbs and uneven wadi tracks during family outings.

Comfort & Cabin

The SL cabin is designed for the GCC climate, featuring a powerful multi-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents to keep all seven passengers cool during summer. The 12.3-inch touchscreen includes wireless Apple CarPlay, reducing cable clutter while navigating. The second-row doors open to nearly 90 degrees, making it significantly easier to install child seats or access the third row compared to its competitors.

Safety

Safety is a hallmark of the SL trim, which features the Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite including Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection. The ProPILOT Assist system is particularly useful on the E11 highway, helping maintain lane position and distance from traffic. A 360-degree Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection makes parking in tight mall spaces effortless.

The bottom line

For the family buyer who wants the maximum equipment list in a two-year-old SUV, this SL trim offers the perfect balance of luxury tech and Nissan's legendary regional reliability.
