Summary

This 2024 Nissan X-Trail S is a smart choice for GCC families, offering a modern crossover experience with just two years of age. Its Blue exterior is a distinctive alternative to the common white and silver, while the 2.5L powertrain provides the dependable performance expected by regional drivers. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it is fully optimized for local conditions, featuring the essential cooling performance needed for the UAE summer. With its balanced footprint and 4WD capability, it stands out for its daily usability and weekend versatility across the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2024 X-Trails

With 51,536 km on the odometer, this X-Trail has been driven approximately 25,000 km per year, which aligns perfectly with the average highway-heavy usage seen in the GCC. While many listings in this segment feature higher mileage, this vehicle represents a typical and well-used example of a modern family workhorse. The Blue exterior is a refreshing choice that maintains good visibility and provides a unique profile in a market dominated by neutral tones.

S vs Lower Trims

The S trim serves as the entry point into the X-Trail lineup, yet it comes equipped with essentials that GCC buyers prioritize, including rear AC vents for passenger comfort in high temperatures. It adds Intelligent All-Wheel Drive over the base 2WD variants, providing extra stability on gravel tracks or during sudden rain showers. You also benefit from standard LED daytime running lights and a 5-seater layout that maximizes cargo flexibility compared to the more cramped 7-seater options.

X-Trail vs Segment Rivals

The Nissan X-Trail is frequently cross-shopped with the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V. It leads the segment in terms of cargo practicality, offering 575 litres of boot space in this 5-seat configuration, which is ideal for large grocery runs or family road trips to Oman. Additionally, Nissan's Xtronic CVT is tuned specifically for highway refinement, providing a smoother cruising experience than some of its more traditional geared competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.5L 4WD model typically averages around 7.8 L/100km, though this can reach 10-11 L/100km in heavy GCC city traffic. As a Nissan, it benefits from one of the most extensive authorized service networks in the UAE and wider Middle East, ensuring parts are always accessible. The X-Trail historically retains about 60-65% of its value after three years in the local market, making it one of the more stable investments in the compact SUV segment.

Performance & Capability

The 2.5L naturally aspirated engine delivers 181 hp, providing enough power for confident highway overtaking and merging into fast-moving UAE traffic. With its Intelligent 4WD system, the X-Trail handles light off-road duties and sandy tracks with ease, making it a capable companion for weekend camping trips. The 210 mm ground clearance ensures you can navigate speed bumps and uneven terrain without concern for the underbody.

Comfort & Cabin

The 5-seat layout offers generous legroom for all passengers, with a flat rear floor that makes the middle seat genuinely usable for adults. Nissan's AC systems are legendary in the region for their cooling speed, and the dedicated rear vents ensure that the entire cabin stays comfortable even when temperatures exceed 45°C. The cabin materials are designed for durability, featuring high-quality plastics and fabrics that stand up well to the intense local sun.

Safety

This X-Trail comes standard with a comprehensive safety package, including multiple airbags, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, and Stability Control. Useful for the long, straight highways of the GCC, the standard Cruise Control and Hill Start Assist provide peace of mind during extended commutes. Its 5-star safety rating from major testing bodies underscores its status as a top-tier family vehicle.

The bottom line

For the practical buyer seeking a nearly new SUV with the security of a GCC-wide service network, this X-Trail S is a dependable and spacious choice that is ready for immediate daily use.
