Summary

This 2024 Suzuki Ertiga GL is a highly practical choice for families requiring seven seats without the high running costs of a full-sized SUV. As a GCC-spec hybrid, it excels in stop-start city traffic, offering significantly better fuel economy than traditional petrol rivals. The black exterior is a strong choice for the regional used market, consistently holding its value well across the Emirates. With low mileage for its age, this van represents a dependable, near-new opportunity for school runs or group commutes. It stands out in the segment for offering genuine three-row adult usability in a compact, easy-to-park footprint.

This Car vs Other 2024 Ertigas

With just 34,000 km, this Ertiga has been driven significantly less than the typical 25,000 km annual average seen in the GCC. The black exterior is a premier resale color in the UAE, ensuring better value retention compared to less common shades. Its recent model year means the hybrid components and interior electronics remain under optimal performance parameters.

GL vs Lower Trims

The GL trim offers a substantial upgrade over the base GA, most notably including a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone linkage and steering-mounted audio controls. It also adds vital comfort features for the GCC climate, such as rear air conditioning with independent controls and chrome exterior detailing that provides a more premium aesthetic than the entry-level steel-wheel variants.

Ertiga vs Segment Rivals

The Ertiga leads rivals like the Mitsubishi Xpander and Toyota Avanza by offering a dedicated hybrid powertrain that reduces fuel overhead in heavy traffic. While competitors often prioritize styling, the Suzuki’s boxier design ensures that the third row provides genuine legroom for adults rather than just children. Its compact turning circle also makes it much easier to navigate tight older parking structures in Dubai or Sharjah.

Running Costs & Resale

This hybrid model achieves an impressive real-world fuel consumption of approximately 6.2L/100km, a major advantage for high-mileage drivers across the UAE. Suzuki maintains one of the most accessible and affordable service networks in the GCC, with parts readily available in every major city. The Ertiga is known for having one of the flattest depreciation curves in the MPV segment, retaining a high percentage of its value even after three years of use.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre engine produces 105 hp, supported by an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) that provides electric assistance during acceleration. With a 180mm ground clearance, it easily clears speed breakers and uneven surfaces commonly found on suburban routes. The 4-speed automatic transmission is tuned for reliability and smooth shifting, ensuring a comfortable experience for all seven passengers during long highway stretches.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for maximum thermal comfort, featuring a powerful dual-zone air conditioning system with dedicated ceiling-mounted vents for rear rows. The black fabric interior is durable and stays cooler in the sun compared to leather alternatives. Clever storage solutions, including ventilated cupholders that use the AC to keep drinks cool, make it a perfect companion for the intense GCC summers.

Safety

Standard safety features include dual front SRS airbags, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Electronic Stability Control (ESP). This trim also includes Hill Hold Control, which prevents the vehicle from rolling back on inclines—a frequent benefit in multi-story parking ramps. ISOFIX child seat anchors are standard in the second row, ensuring secure transport for younger family members.

The bottom line

Perfect for the budget-conscious family or transport professional, this low-mileage hybrid Ertiga offers the ideal balance of seven-seat utility and class-leading fuel economy.
