Summary

This 2024 Tesla Model Y Performance is a standout choice in the GCC electric SUV market, offering blistering acceleration that rivals many sports cars while maintaining family-friendly practicality. With just 27,229 km on the odometer over its 2-year lifespan, this vehicle has been used conservatively and remains under the comprehensive manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. The Grey exterior is a highly sought-after, high-resale color in the region, known for handling the desert dust better than darker tones. For a GCC buyer, this specific trim offers the perfect balance of a high-tech cabin, dual-motor AWD stability for high-speed highway commutes, and a refined driving experience that typical petrol crossovers cannot match.

This Car vs Other 2024 Model Ys

With 27,229 km on the clock, this vehicle sits comfortably below the typical 40,000–50,000 km expected for a 2-year-old car in the high-mileage GCC market. This lower usage ensures that the battery health remains optimal and mechanical wear is minimal compared to the average used listing. The Grey finish is one of the most practical and popular colors in the UAE and wider GCC, significantly aiding value retention compared to less common or high-maintenance colors.

PERFORMANCE vs Lower Trims

The Performance trim is the top-tier configuration, adding significantly more than just speed over the Long Range variant. It features upgraded performance brakes with red calipers, 21-inch Uberturbine wheels, and a lowered suspension that sharpens handling for high-speed cornering. Inside, you get premium aluminium alloy pedals and access to 'Track Mode,' a sophisticated software suite that allows you to customize power distribution and stability control, a feature entirely absent from lower trims.

Model Y vs Segment Rivals

The Model Y Performance dominates rivals like the BMW iX3 and Mercedes-Benz EQC when it comes to raw acceleration and charging infrastructure access via the regional Supercharger network. Its 854-liter boot capacity (expandable to 2,158 liters) is best-in-class, providing significantly more utility than European competitors. For GCC families, the combination of advanced Autopilot hardware and superior heat-pump efficiency makes it a more technologically capable choice for the desert climate.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are remarkably low, with electricity being significantly cheaper than petrol across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Maintenance is minimal; Tesla does not require traditional oil changes or spark plug replacements, with main service items including cabin filters and brake fluid checks every two years. In the GCC market, the Model Y holds its value exceptionally well, typically depreciating at a slower rate than German luxury electric SUVs due to high demand and the strength of the local Tesla service network.

Performance & Capability

The dual-motor All-Wheel Drive system produces a combined 437 hp, propelling the SUV to a top speed of 250 km/h with a pinned-to-the-seat feel. This power is particularly useful for effortless overtaking on the E11 or E311 highways. Despite its road focus, the AWD system provides excellent traction on sand-covered roads or during the rare but heavy GCC rainstorms, ensuring stable and confident power delivery at all times.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a masterclass in minimalism, centered around a 15-inch touchscreen that controls everything from the panoramic glass roof to the premium 13-speaker audio system. For the GCC summer, the powerful climate control system can be activated remotely via the app to pre-cool the interior to a crisp 20°C before you enter. The 5-seat layout offers generous legroom and flat-folding rear seats, making it ideal for weekend road trips across the emirates.

Safety

Safety is paramount, with the Model Y having earned a 5-star rating from Euro NCAP and NHTSA. This trim includes the full Autopilot suite with 360-degree cameras, emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring, which are essential for navigating fast-moving multi-lane traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. Its low center of gravity, thanks to the floor-mounted battery pack, provides exceptional rollover protection compared to traditional petrol SUVs.

The bottom line

This is the ideal opportunity for a tech-savvy driver looking for the fastest version of the world's best-selling EV, presented in a high-resale spec with below-average mileage.
