Summary

This 2024 Toyota Fortuner GXR is a robust choice for GCC buyers who require a balance of daily reliability and authentic off-road capability. Powered by the proven 4.0L V6 engine rather than the base 4-cylinder, it offers the necessary torque for desert weekends and confident highway overtaking across the Emirates. Its white exterior is the most practical choice for the region, offering superior heat reflection and maintaining the highest resale demand in the local market. As a GCC-spec model, it benefits from a cooling system and air conditioning package specifically engineered for 45°C+ summer peaks. This listing represents a modern, high-specification workhorse that bridges the gap between a family commuter and a dedicated 4x4.

This Car vs Other 2024 Fortuners

With just over 105,000 km, this vehicle has been actively utilized, which is common for highway-heavy commuting between cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. While higher than the global average, this mileage is consistent with GCC-based family SUVs that serve as primary transport for cross-border trips. Its white paint is the benchmark for value retention in the region, ensuring it remains highly liquid in the used market.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR trim provides a significant mechanical upgrade over the entry-level EXR by replacing the 2.7L engine with a much more capable 4.0L V6. In addition to the extra power, this GXR adds essential convenience features for the region, including a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, and a more advanced 8-inch touchscreen interface. These additions make it more suitable for navigating tight city parking while maintaining its heavy-duty utility.

Fortuner vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Mitsubishi Montero Sport or Nissan X-Terra, the Fortuner leads in terms of total service network reach and ease of parts procurement across the entire GCC. Its body-on-frame construction, shared with the legendary Hilux, provides a level of structural durability for desert driving that monocoque rivals cannot match. Additionally, the 80-litre fuel tank provides superior range for long-distance desert highway expeditions.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.0L V6 typically averages around 10.4 L/100km, though this varies during stop-start city traffic in Riyadh or Dubai. The Fortuner is one of the slowest-depreciating vehicles in the UAE market, often retaining up to 80-85% of its value after the first year. Maintenance is straightforward with 10,000 km service intervals, supported by an authorized service network that is arguably the most accessible in the Middle East.

Performance & Capability

The 4.0L V6 produces a robust 235 hp and 376 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in approximately 9 seconds. It features a genuine part-time 4WD system with a low-range transfer case, allowing it to tackle soft sand and steep dunes that would stop most road-biased crossovers. A high ground clearance of up to 279 mm ensures excellent approach angles for off-road obstacles and protection against high curbs in urban environments.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is designed for family logistics, featuring seven seats and a tri-zone climate control system that ensures the second and third rows remain cool during extreme summer heat. Acoustic glass and reinforced insulation help manage road noise during long highway hauls between Emirates. The GXR also includes a wood-trimmed steering wheel and paddle shifters, adding a touch of driver engagement to a practical cabin layout.

Safety

This Fortuner comes equipped with essential safety systems for regional driving, including Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) for maintaining grip on sand-swept roads and Hill-start Assist Control. The GXR trim includes dual front airbags plus a driver’s knee airbag as standard. A rearview camera and integrated parking sensors provide critical visibility for a vehicle of this size, ensuring safety during family use and school runs.

The bottom line

This Fortuner GXR is the ideal match for a family that needs a durable, V6-powered 4x4 with the highest possible resale security in the GCC market. It offers the perfect specification for someone who wants Land Cruiser-like durability in a more agile and city-friendly footprint.
