Summary

This 2024 Toyota Hilux Adventure represents the peak of diesel performance in the GCC pickup market, offering a near-new ownership experience with just over 18,000 km. Dressed in high-demand black, this GCC-spec truck balances rugged off-road hardware with the refined interior features found in the Adventure trim. The 2.8L diesel engine is the preferred choice for those who value long-range fuel efficiency and high torque for towing or desert crossings. As a 2024 model, it benefits from the latest tech updates and legendary Toyota reliability that anchors its resale value. This is the ideal work-life balance vehicle for a buyer who needs a durable workhorse that doesn't feel like one inside the cabin.

This Car vs Other 2024 Hiluxes

With just 18,356 km, this Hilux sits well below the typical GCC annual average of 25,000 km, making it a low-mileage standout for its year. The Adventure trim is more desirable in the secondary market than the standard GLX or SGLX versions due to its aggressive styling and SUV-like cabin features. The black exterior is a strong resale color in the region, ensuring better value retention when it's time to upgrade.

ADVENTURE vs Lower Trims

The Adventure trim elevates the Hilux from a basic utility truck to a lifestyle 4x4, adding wide-body fender flares, unique 18-inch alloy wheels, and a signature front grille not found on lower grades. Inside, you get a significant tech boost with an 8-inch touchscreen featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a dual-zone climate control system essential for GCC summers. It also features upgraded seat materials and a leather-trimmed steering wheel, providing a much more comfortable environment for long highway drives.

Hilux vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Mitsubishi L200 and Isuzu D-Max, the Hilux Adventure offers a more powerful 2.8L diesel engine with 500 Nm of torque, giving it the edge in heavy towing and highway overtaking. Its 80-litre fuel tank provides a superior cruising range, which is a major advantage for cross-border travel between the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, Toyota's unmatched service presence across every corner of the GCC makes it a more practical choice for long-term ownership than its rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Toyota remains the champion of resale in the GCC, with the Hilux specifically retaining up to 75% of its value after two years, significantly outpacing its American and European counterparts. Real-world diesel consumption averages around 8.5L/100km, offering excellent economy for a vehicle of this size in stop-start city traffic. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and with one of the most extensive authorized service networks in the region, maintenance is convenient and affordable everywhere from Dubai to Muscat.

Performance & Capability

The 2.8L turbo-diesel produces 201 hp and a massive 500 Nm of torque, allowing for a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity that leads the mid-size segment. The selectable 4WD system with a rear differential lock ensures it can handle soft sand and rocky wadis with ease during weekend desert trips. On the highway, the 6-speed automatic transmission provides smooth power delivery, making long-distance travel between emirates feel effortless even when fully loaded.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Hilux Adventure features a five-seat layout with rear AC vents to keep all passengers cool during extreme heat. The cabin is surprisingly quiet for a diesel truck, thanks to improved sound insulation that makes it suitable for family road trips. You'll find plenty of storage solutions, including a cooled glovebox for keeping drinks chilled on long desert drives, and a modern digital cockpit that keeps all essential vehicle data in clear view.

Safety

Safety is a priority with a suite that includes Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), which is particularly useful when navigating steep dunes. This trim also includes front and rear parking sensors along with a rearview camera to make maneuvering in tight city spaces easier. Multiple airbags and a reinforced high-tensile steel frame provide peace of mind for both daily commutes and off-road excursions.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a late-model, low-mileage pickup that works as hard as it plays, this Adventure trim Hilux is the most secure investment in its class.
