Summary

This 2024 Land Cruiser GXR is a standout choice in the used market, combining Toyota's legendary durability with a mileage that is exceptionally low for its age in the GCC. The 4.0L V6 remains the preferred powertrain for long-term ownership in our region due to its mechanical simplicity and ability to thrive in extreme summer temperatures. Finished in black, it benefits from one of the highest resale values in the UAE, making it as much a smart financial move as a capable family SUV. The GXR trim bridges the gap between rugged utility and luxury, offering the essential upgrades local buyers demand. For any GCC owner, the peace of mind provided by the region-wide support network is the ultimate advantage.

This Car vs Other 2024 Land Cruisers

With just 28,300 km on the odometer at two years of age, this vehicle has been driven significantly less than the 20,000–25,000 km annual average typical for SUVs in the GCC. This low usage is a major advantage for buyers seeking a near-new mechanical condition. The black exterior is a primary resale color in the UAE market, consistently outperforming niche shades in both valuation and speed of sale.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR trim provides significant comfort and tech upgrades over the base EXR that are highly valued in the local market. It introduces synthetic leather upholstery, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, alongside the larger 12.3-inch infotainment display found in many GCC versions. Safety is also enhanced with additional parking sensors and a more comprehensive camera system essential for navigating tight city parking.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

Compared to rivals like the Nissan Patrol or Land Rover Defender, the Land Cruiser leads with its massive 110-litre fuel tank, which is a critical advantage for long-distance highway drives between Emirates or across GCC borders. While European competitors focus on complex electronics, the Land Cruiser’s naturally aspirated V6 is purpose-built for the heat and dust of the Arabian Peninsula. Its cooling system is widely considered the benchmark for the segment, ensuring cabin comfort even when external temperatures exceed 45°C.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 is tuned to run efficiently on 95-octane petrol, offering a lower cost per fill than high-performance rivals requiring 98-octane. Real-world fuel consumption typically averages around 10.6 L/100km on the highway, though city driving in stop-start traffic will see this increase. Toyota maintains the most extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the wider GCC, ensuring parts are always available. Historically, the Land Cruiser GXR retains approximately 75–80% of its value after three years, representing the strongest value retention of any SUV in the region.

Performance & Capability

The 271 hp V6 provides smooth, linear power delivery that is perfectly suited for both daily commuting and weekend desert excursions. It features a full-time 4WD system with a locking center differential and Toyota's renowned Crawl Control, which manages acceleration and braking automatically on difficult terrain. With 235 mm of ground clearance, it easily clears obstacles that would stop most road-biased crossovers. On the highway, the 6-speed automatic is geared for relaxed cruising, making it an ideal companion for the long-distance travel common in the GCC.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout is designed with family logistics in mind, offering a versatile interior that can prioritize either passenger legroom or cargo space. GCC-specific comfort is handled by a high-capacity tri-zone climate control system with dedicated vents for the second and third rows to ensure rapid cooling. The cabin insulation is specifically engineered to suppress road noise and heat soak during the peak summer months. Convenience features like remote engine start allow you to pre-cool the interior before you even step inside.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive on this GXR trim, featuring a suite of active systems including Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Brake Assist, and Active Traction Control (A-TRAC) to maintain grip on sand and gravel. It is equipped with multiple airbags, including front, side, and curtain coverage, alongside ISOFIX anchors for child seats. The inclusion of front and rear parking sensors and a rearview camera provides essential visibility for a vehicle of this size in busy urban environments.

The bottom line

For a GCC buyer seeking the ultimate balance of low mileage, high resale potential, and legendary reliability, this 2024 GXR is a rare and highly sought-after opportunity.
