• Front, centre, and rear differential locks standard

Summary

This 2024 Land Cruiser GR Sport is a premier choice for GCC buyers who demand ultimate off-road hardware without sacrificing the legendary reliability of the LC300 platform. The 3.3L twin-turbo diesel provides immense low-end torque, essential for deep sand navigation, while maintaining a range advantage for cross-border trips that petrol rivals can't match. As a white GCC-spec model, it offers the strongest possible resale profile in the regional market and superior thermal properties for the summer heat. This trim specifically adds the specialized E-KDSS suspension, making it significantly more stable on the highway and more articulated in the dunes than standard versions. For the serious GCC owner, this represents the highest tier of factory-ready desert performance available today.

This Car vs Other 2024 Land Cruisers

As a current-year model in the GCC market, this Land Cruiser avoids the long delivery delays common for new dealership orders. Its white exterior and diesel powertrain represent the most liquid configuration for resale in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Compared to the more common petrol versions, this diesel V6 provides 50 Nm more torque, making it a more effective tool for heavy towing and technical desert terrain.

GR SPORT vs Lower Trims

The GR Sport adds critical off-road performance technology not found on the GXR or VX, most notably the Electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (E-KDSS) and triple locking differentials. Unlike the luxury-focused Sahara or VXR, it features specialized bumpers for improved approach angles and unique 18-inch wheels with taller rubber for better sand flotation. Inside, you receive GR-exclusive sports seats with enhanced bolstering and a black-and-red theme that differentiates it from the standard cabin.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Patrol, the Land Cruiser GR Sport offers a more advanced suspension system for technical off-roading and superior fuel range thanks to its efficient diesel V6. While rivals lead in cabin volume, the Toyota commands significantly higher resale value in the GCC used market. The inclusion of three locking differentials from the factory gives it a mechanical edge in deep sand that most luxury SUVs cannot match.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.3L diesel V6 is remarkably efficient for its size, with a manufacturer-official combined figure of 8.9 L/100km, which translates to a theoretical range of over 1,200 km on a full 110-litre tank. Service intervals are typically set at 10,000 km, supported by the most extensive authorized service network in the GCC. Historically, Land Cruisers in this spec retain roughly 75–80% of their value after three years in the UAE, outperforming almost everything else in the segment.

Performance & Capability

The standout figure is the 700 Nm of torque, which provides effortless overtaking power on the highway and massive low-down grunt for climbing dunes. The E-KDSS system electronically detaches the stabilizer bars to provide maximum wheel travel off-road, while stiffening them on-road to reduce body roll during high-speed cornering. With a 235 mm ground clearance and 700 mm wading depth, it is built to handle the most demanding wadis and desert conditions in the region.

Comfort & Cabin

Despite its off-road focus, the cabin is highly refined, featuring a 7-seat configuration with ventilated front and rear outboard seats standard—a vital feature for the GCC summer. The 12.3-inch infotainment screen and 14-speaker JBL premium audio system provide a high-end experience for long family road trips. Triple-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents ensures all seven passengers remain cool even when temperatures exceed 45°C.

Safety

The 2024 Land Cruiser comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite, including 10 airbags and the full Toyota Safety Sense package. Key features for GCC driving include adaptive cruise control for long highway stretches, blind-spot monitoring for multi-lane traffic, and Multi-Terrain Select with Crawl Control for safe desert navigation. The LC300 platform carries a 5-star ANCAP safety rating, providing top-tier protection for family use.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a factory-tuned desert conqueror that doubles as a reliable family long-hauler, this diesel GR Sport is the definitive choice. It combines the region's best resale profile with unmatched mechanical capability in a brand-new package.
