Summary

This 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser EXR is a compelling choice for GCC buyers who prioritize long-range efficiency and heavy-duty capability. Powered by the high-torque 3.3-litre twin-turbo diesel engine, it delivers superior highway overtaking and towing power while significantly reducing trips to the pump compared to its petrol siblings. As a GCC-spec vehicle in a high-resale white exterior, it offers maximum peace of mind regarding climate suitability and future trade-in value. The Land Cruiser remains the undisputed king of regional roads, and this newer 300-series model ensures you benefit from the latest TNGA platform's improved handling and weight reduction. It is a robust, reliable, and family-ready workhorse designed for the unique demands of life in the Gulf.

This Car vs Other 2024 Land Cruisers

With 73,000 km, this vehicle reflects slightly higher than average annual usage for the GCC, which typically sees 20,000-25,000 km per year. However, this is largely mitigated by the white exterior, which is the strongest resale color in the regional market due to its heat-reflective properties. In a market where high-mileage diesel Land Cruisers are sought after for their longevity, this specific example represents a reliable long-term asset.

EXR vs Lower Trims

The EXR trim serves as the entry point to the luxury SUV segment, providing essential hardware while maintaining the core capabilities of the 300-series. It includes a 9-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with tri-zone climate control as standard. While higher trims add larger screens and ventilated leather, the EXR is preferred by those who want the legendary off-road hardware and V6 diesel torque without the premium cost of sensitive electronic extras.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

The Land Cruiser dominates rivals like the Nissan Patrol and Chevrolet Tahoe, particularly through its 110-litre fuel tank which is essential for long-distance desert crossings and inter-emirate travel. While the Patrol offers a V8 soundtrack, the Land Cruiser's 3.3-litre diesel provides 700 Nm of torque, leading the segment in low-end pulling power. Additionally, Toyota’s massive service network across the UAE, KSA, and Oman ensures parts and maintenance are accessible even in remote areas.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 3.3-litre diesel typically averages around 8.9 L/100km on combined cycles, dropping closer to 8.0 L/100km during steady highway cruising between cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Service intervals are standardized at 10,000 km, supported by the most extensive authorized service network in the GCC. The Land Cruiser consistently shows some of the lowest depreciation rates in the region, typically retaining 75-80% of its value after three years.

Performance & Capability

The standout figure is the 700 Nm of peak torque, which is available from just 1,600 rpm, providing effortless acceleration despite the vehicle's weight. It features a full-time all-wheel-drive system with a low-range transfer case and center differential lock, ensuring it handles deep sand and desert dunes with ease. The 10-speed automatic transmission is specifically tuned to keep the engine in its power band for smooth highway cruising and heavy-duty towing of up to 3,500 kg.

Comfort & Cabin

This seven-seater SUV is designed for the GCC climate, featuring a powerful tri-zone air conditioning system with dedicated rear ceiling vents to ensure all three rows stay cool during peak summer heat. The cabin benefits from acoustic glass and improved insulation, making long family road trips across the emirates remarkably quiet. The third-row seats now fold flat into the floor, a major practical upgrade for this generation that maximizes cargo space for weekend camping gear.

Safety

The Land Cruiser comes standard with a comprehensive safety suite including multiple airbags, electronic stability control, and Downhill Assist Control for off-road safety. ABS and brake assist are specifically tuned for heavy SUV dynamics, providing reliable stopping power on both sand and tarmac. The 300-series platform has earned a 5-star safety rating in various international markets, highlighting its structural integrity for family use.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who needs a durable, long-range family explorer with the best resale value in the market, this diesel 300-series is the ultimate choice.
