Summary

This Toyota Land Cruiser VXR is a prime example of why this model remains the benchmark for SUVs in the Middle East. With its black exterior and top-tier trim, it presents a prestigious image while offering the legendary durability that the GCC region demands. The mileage is slightly higher than the typical annual average for a 2024 model, yet this is largely irrelevant for a Land Cruiser, which is engineered to endure hundreds of thousands of kilometers across harsh desert environments. This generation’s 3.5L twin-turbo V6 provides a significant leap in refinement and power over the older V8, making it a much more responsive highway cruiser for long trips across the Emirates. For a buyer looking for immediate availability of a high-spec model that retains its value better than almost any other vehicle on the market, this listing is a standout choice. The single most important consideration for any GCC buyer is the peace of mind offered by the vast service network and the car's unparalleled ability to handle extreme summer heat without mechanical fatigue.

This Car vs Other 2024 Land Cruisers

While the mileage of 76,621 km is above the standard 20,000–25,000 km expected for a vehicle in its first year, it reflects the typical use case of a professional who frequent commuters between major cities like Abu Dhabi, Dubai, or Riyadh. In the GCC, highway kilometers are often preferred over lower city mileage because they involve less strain on the transmission, brakes, and cooling systems. The black exterior is one of the most sought-after colors in the UAE and Saudi markets, ensuring that this car will always have a high number of interested buyers when it comes time for resale. Choosing this specific unit allows a buyer to skip the lengthy waiting lists often found at official dealerships while still securing a nearly new vehicle that has been broken in properly for regional conditions. Mechanically, the Land Cruiser is just getting started at this stage, and the maintenance history of a 2024 model ensures all modern safety tech is fully updated and operational.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR trim represents a substantial upgrade over the GXR and EXR models by transforming the Land Cruiser from a rugged workhorse into a true luxury sanctuary. GCC buyers prioritize the VXR specifically for its advanced suspension systems and enhanced interior features that make the extreme summer months far more tolerable. Inside, you will find more premium materials and the full 12.3-inch infotainment display which is significantly more intuitive than the smaller screens found on base models. This trim also standardizes essential regional luxuries like ventilated front seats and a more powerful climate control system that ensures the third row stays cool even in 50°C heat. Additionally, the VXR adds a 360-degree camera system and front/rear sensors which are indispensable for navigating a large SUV through tight parking spaces in Dubai or Riyadh malls. These features aren't just for comfort; they are the primary drivers of the Land Cruiser’s legendary resale value in the second-hand market.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the Nissan Patrol or the Land Rover Defender, the Land Cruiser leads the pack through its unique combination of mechanical simplicity and regional support. While the Patrol is a fierce competitor, the Land Cruiser's 3.5L twin-turbo engine offers a more modern power delivery that excels during high-speed highway overtaking. Against European rivals, the Toyota offers significantly larger fuel tank capacity, which is a major advantage for those driving long distances through the vast expanses between GCC cities where petrol stations can be sparse. The interior space is optimized for large families, offering genuine 7-seat capacity that is easier to access and more comfortable for adults than the tighter rear quarters of many luxury performance SUVs. Furthermore, the air conditioning system in the Land Cruiser is widely regarded as the best in the world, specifically tested and tuned to handle Middle Eastern summers where European competitors often struggle. This specialized regional engineering makes it the most practical choice for a local buyer.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.5L V6 engine is surprisingly efficient for a vehicle of this size, achieving roughly 9-10 km/L on long highway stretches, though city traffic in bustling areas like Riyadh will see that figure dip. It requires Super 98 or Special 95 fuel, both of which are readily available across the entire GCC. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and one of the largest benefits of ownership is the sheer density of Toyota authorized service centers; you can find expert maintenance in almost any town from Muscat to Kuwait City. In terms of resale, the Land Cruiser is widely considered the safest investment on four wheels in the Middle East. It typically loses only 8–10% of its value annually, whereas luxury competitors can drop by 15–20% in the same timeframe. After three years of ownership, a GCC-spec Land Cruiser VXR often retains over 70% of its original purchase price, making your total cost of ownership significantly lower than almost any other vehicle in the SUV segment.

Performance & Capability

With 409 hp and 650 Nm of torque, this VXR provides an effortless driving experience whether you are merging onto a fast-moving highway or navigating soft sand dunes. The 0-100 km/h sprint is achieved in approximately 6.7 seconds, a figure that was recently exclusive to sports cars but is now a reality for this 7-seater powerhouse. Its genuine off-road credentials include a robust All Wheel Drive system with a low-range transfer case and multiple terrain modes that allow it to traverse the most challenging desert landscapes with ease. The ground clearance of 235 mm ensures that rocks and steep dunes are handled without underbody contact, a feature highly valued by desert enthusiasts in the UAE and Oman. Towing capacity remains class-leading, easily handling large boat trailers or horse boxes for weekend excursions. This performance isn't just about raw power; it is about the reliability of that power even under the extreme thermal stress of a GCC afternoon.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin of the VXR is designed to be a mobile oasis for up to seven passengers, featuring high-quality leather and soft-touch materials throughout. In our region, the most important feature is the specialized HVAC system, which includes multi-zone climate control with dedicated vents for all three rows, ensuring every passenger remains comfortable. The front seats are both heated and ventilated, providing immediate relief when entering a car that has been parked in the sun. Acoustic glass and superior insulation have been integrated into this generation to keep the cabin exceptionally quiet, shielding passengers from road noise during long-distance travel between emirates. For entertainment, the premium audio system provides a concert-like experience, while the large sunroof adds an airy feel to the darkened interior. The 7-set configuration is highly flexible, with the third row folding flat to create a massive cargo area for family road trips or shopping excursions.

Safety

Safety in the VXR is comprehensive, featuring the Toyota Safety Sense suite as standard, which provides an extra layer of security on the wide and fast-paced highways of the GCC. This includes Pre-Collision Systems with pedestrian detection and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, which is perfect for maintaining a safe distance during the long drive from Dubai to Abu Dhabi. The Lane Tracing Assist and Blind Spot Monitoring are particularly helpful in multi-lane city traffic, where high-speed lane changes are common. For off-road safety, the car uses sophisticated stability and traction control systems that adapt to gravel or sand, preventing slides before they happen. This model also comes equipped with a full array of airbags, including curtain shield airbags for all three rows, and holds a top-tier safety rating from international testing bodies. It is a vehicle designed to protect your family in every possible environment, from the mall parking lot to the deepest parts of the Liwa desert.

The bottom line

This 2024 VXR is the perfect match for a buyer who needs the ultimate GCC all-rounder without the wait for a brand-new unit. It offers the best resale security in the market today and remains the most prestigious yet practical family SUV available in the region.
