Summary

This 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser VXR is a standout opportunity in the GCC market, offering the preferred 3.5L twin-turbo powertrain with mileage that sits comfortably within the expected range for its two-year age. Finished in white, the strongest resale color in the region, this flagship trim represents the pinnacle of Toyota's engineering, balancing executive-level cabin luxury with legendary off-road hardware. It offers a significant performance jump over the base V6 models, making it ideal for those who prioritize effortless highway overtaking and towing. For a GCC buyer, this vehicle provides the ultimate peace of mind through an unmatched service network and a cooling system specifically over-engineered for our extreme summer heat.

This Car vs Other 2024 Land Cruisers

With 43,000 km over two years, this Land Cruiser has been used as a reliable daily driver, averaging exactly the 21,500 km per year typical for highway-heavy GCC commutes. Unlike higher-mileage examples often found in the secondary market, this unit maintains the mechanical freshness needed to capitalize on the model's legendary 500,000 km lifespan. The white exterior is a strategic advantage for local buyers, as it reflects heat more efficiently than darker shades and remains the fastest-selling color at resale.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR trim adds critical premium features that the GXR and EXR lack, most notably the 14-speaker JBL audio system and ventilated second-row seats—a vital comfort for passengers during the Gulf summer. It also upgrades the off-road suite with the 3D Multi-Terrain Monitor and adds the full Toyota Safety Sense package, including radar-based adaptive cruise control which is indispensable for long drives between emirates. Unlike the mid-range trims, the VXR provides a true executive experience with four-zone climate control and a larger 12.3-inch digital driver display.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the Nissan Patrol or Land Rover Defender, the Land Cruiser leads with a massive 110-litre fuel tank that ensures superior range for cross-border trips or deep desert excursions. Its body-on-frame construction offers a level of long-term durability in sand and gravel that monocoque rivals struggle to match over a decade of use. Additionally, the twin-turbo V6 provides more immediate low-end torque for sand recovery than the naturally aspirated engines found in competing traditional SUVs.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.5L twin-turbo averages between 14 and 16 L/100km in mixed GCC driving, reflecting its heavy-duty build and powerful output. Service intervals are a standard 10,000 km, supported by the most extensive authorized service network in the region, ensuring parts are available in every corner of the UAE and Saudi Arabia. This model enjoys the lowest depreciation rate in its class, typically retaining up to 75-80% of its value after three years in the GCC market.

Performance & Capability

The 409 hp twin-turbo engine enables a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 6.7 seconds, providing surprising agility for a seven-seat SUV. On the dunes, the Crawl Control system and Multi-Terrain Select automatically manage throttle and braking, allowing even novice drivers to navigate soft sand with confidence. Its 10-speed automatic transmission is geared for high-speed highway efficiency, keeping RPMs low and the cabin quiet at 120 km/h.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior features seven premium leather seats with heating and ventilation for both the front and second-row passengers. The air conditioning is specifically tuned for the 50-degree Celsius peaks of the Gulf, featuring independent rear zones and dedicated vents for the third row to ensure all seven occupants remain cool. Acoustic glass and improved insulation significantly reduce wind noise, a major upgrade over previous generations of the Land Cruiser.

Safety

This VXR trim comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense, featuring Pre-Collision System, Lane Trace Assist, and Adaptive High Beam System. For the fast-moving multi-lane highways of the UAE, the Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert provide essential protection. The vehicle is also equipped with a 360-degree camera system and multiple airbags, ensuring a 5-star safety environment for family road trips.

The bottom line

For the buyer who demands a vehicle that can transition from an executive meeting to a deep-desert weekend without compromise, this low-depreciation, high-spec VXR is the definitive GCC choice.
