Summary

This 2024 Land Cruiser VXR is a standout opportunity in the GCC market, combining the highly desirable 3.5L Twin-Turbo powertrain with ultra-low mileage that is significantly below the regional average. The Black exterior is a premier resale choice in the UAE, ensuring strong value retention and a commanding road presence. As the flagship luxury trim, the VXR offers the perfect balance of a refined leather interior for family duties and the mechanical muscle needed for serious desert weekends. For any buyer in the Gulf, the combination of this specific trim's luxury and the peace of mind provided by the region's most extensive service network makes it a top-tier long-term investment.

This Car vs Other 2024 Land Cruisers

At just 1,488 km, this vehicle's mileage is exceptionally low for a two-year-old car in the GCC, where the annual average typically reaches 25,000 km. This translates to a car that is effectively in 'showroom' mechanical condition, offering a significant buying advantage over higher-mileage examples often found in the secondary market. The Black paint further strengthens its case, as it remains one of the most sought-after colors for resale across the Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR trim sits at the top of the luxury hierarchy, adding critical features that GCC buyers value, such as the 14-speaker JBL premium audio system and a 12.3-inch high-resolution infotainment display. Unlike the GXR, the VXR includes ventilated seats for both front and rear passengers—a vital comfort feature during 50°C Gulf summers—along with a 360-degree camera system for easier maneuvering in tight urban parking.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the Nissan Patrol or Ford Expedition, the Land Cruiser leads with its specialized 110-liter dual-tank system, providing superior range for long-distance drives across the UAE and Oman. Its body-on-frame construction and advanced Multi-Terrain Select system offer more genuine off-road durability than the road-biased monocoque competitors, while maintaining class-leading resale value that typically outperforms its European peers.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.5L Twin-Turbo engine is designed for efficiency on long GCC highways, averaging approximately 9.4 L/100km, though stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh will see this rise toward 16 L/100km. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from a regional warranty and a service network that is arguably the strongest in the world, ensuring parts are always available even in remote areas. The Land Cruiser 300 Series is legendary for its value retention, often retaining over 85% of its value after three years in the local market.

Performance & Capability

With 409 hp and 650 Nm of torque, this V6 twin-turbo provides effortless highway overtaking and superior sand-climbing ability compared to the older V8 models. It features a 10-speed automatic transmission that keeps the engine in its power band, supported by a full-time 4WD system with a low-range transfer case for serious terrain. The 235 mm ground clearance and 700 mm wading depth ensure it is fully equipped for desert expeditions or navigating seasonal heavy rains.

Comfort & Cabin

The 7-seat cabin is designed for premium family comfort, featuring high-grade leather upholstery and a four-zone climate control system with dedicated vents for all three rows. The inclusion of a factory refrigerator in the center console is a quintessential GCC luxury, keeping drinks chilled during long summer drives. Cabin insulation is specifically tuned to reduce wind and road noise, providing a serene environment even at highway speeds.

Safety

The VXR comes standard with a comprehensive safety suite including 10 airbags and Toyota Safety Sense, featuring Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Trace Assist which are invaluable for the long, straight highways between Emirates. Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert provide essential protection in fast-moving multi-lane traffic, while the 360-degree bird's-eye view camera makes parking this large SUV stress-free in busy shopping center garages.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a buyer who wants the flagship Land Cruiser experience without the new-car wait times, benefitting from a color and trim combination that represents the gold standard for resale value in the GCC.
