Summary

This 2024 Toyota Prado TX-2 represents the latest '250 Series' generation, combining legendary durability with a modern, retro-inspired aesthetic. With 73,000 km, this vehicle has been utilized primarily for long-range highway travel, which is common in the GCC and typically easier on mechanical components than city-heavy use. The white exterior is the highest-demand color in the regional market, ensuring strong resale value and superior heat reflection during summer months. For a buyer seeking the updated TNGA-F platform and the efficient 2.8L turbo-diesel engine, this listing provides a robust alternative to a brand-new model.

This Car vs Other 2024 Prados

While 73,000 km is above the typical annual average, it indicates a vehicle frequently used for cross-emirate highway journeys rather than grueling stop-start traffic. In the GCC market, high-mileage Toyotas are often preferred over lower-mileage rivals because of their proven mechanical resilience. The white paint remains the gold standard for regional resale, maintaining value better than any other shade.

TX-2 DSL vs Lower Trims

The TX-2 trim offers key upgrades over the base TX, specifically targeting the comfort features essential for GCC drivers. It adds essential convenience such as a higher-resolution infotainment system and enhanced safety sensors that assist in multi-lane highway driving. While lower trims focus on basic utility, the TX-2 balances rugged capability with a more refined cabin experience for family use.

Prado vs Segment Rivals

The Prado consistently leads the mid-size SUV segment in the GCC due to its superior parts availability compared to the Ford Everest or Mitsubishi Pajero. While competitors may offer slightly more tech, the Prado’s 110-liter dual fuel tank system provides a massive advantage for long-distance desert touring where fuel stops are infrequent. Its resale value at the three-year mark remains unmatched by any American or European rival in this class.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.8L turbo-diesel engine is highly regarded for its balance of torque and efficiency, averaging approximately 7.9 L/100km on open highways. Resale value for the 250 Series Prado is expected to remain exceptionally high, typically losing only 8-10% annually compared to 15% for luxury-tier competitors. With Toyota's massive service network spanning every major city in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, maintenance is both affordable and convenient.

Performance & Capability

The 201 hp output is backed by 500 Nm of torque, providing the low-end grunt needed for heavy-duty towing and navigating loose sand. Built on the new TNGA-F ladder-frame chassis, this Prado handles both highway overtaking and desert terrain with improved stability over the previous generation. It features a full-time 4WD system with a center differential lock, ensuring it remains a true off-road tool rather than just a road-biased crossover.

Comfort & Cabin

The 5-seat TX-2 configuration provides massive cargo capacity, ideal for overlanding gear or family road trips. The air conditioning system is specifically engineered for the 45°C+ GCC summers, featuring powerful vents and rapid cooling technology that sustains cabin comfort even in direct sun. The interior is designed for durability, featuring materials that withstand the wear of sand and frequent use without losing their finish.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include a comprehensive airbag system and advanced stability control systems such as HAC (Hill-start Assist Control) and DAC (Downhill Assist Control). These systems are particularly valuable when navigating gravel slopes or steep dunes during weekend excursions. Additionally, the standard rear-view camera and parking sensors provide essential visibility in tight urban parking environments.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who needs the reliability of a diesel workhorse paired with the latest Toyota design, this 2024 Prado TX-2 is an excellent choice that will hold its value for years to come.
