Summary

This 2024 Toyota RAV4 VX represents a strong buying opportunity in the GCC market, combining the region's most trusted reliability with the premium amenities of the high-spec VX trim. With just over 14,000 km, this vehicle is barely broken in, offering a significant advantage over the average GCC annual mileage of 25,000 km. The VX trim adds essential luxury features that help maintain value, making it a smarter long-term investment than base grades. As a GCC-spec model, it is factory-prepared for the extreme local climate, ensuring superior air conditioning performance and a cooling system that handles stop-start traffic with ease. For a buyer seeking the perfect balance of low running costs and high resale liquidity, this RAV4 is the definitive choice.

This Car vs Other 2024 RAV4s

At 14,459 km, this RAV4 is in the lowest percentile for mileage among 2024 models in the GCC, where highway-heavy driving typically results in much higher annual use. This low odometer reading ensures the vehicle remains deep within its manufacturer warranty period and retains its 'near-new' mechanical integrity. The neutral exterior color is a strong asset in the local market, maximizing resale speed and value compared to niche shades.

VX vs Lower Trims

The VX trim significantly elevates the cabin experience over the EX and EXR grades, introducing features like a sunroof and upgraded seating materials that are highly prized by UAE buyers. While lower trims often feel functional, the VX adds premium technology and convenience features like a power tailgate and front/rear parking sensors as standard. These additions not only improve daily comfort but also secure the vehicle's position as a premium choice in the secondary market.

RAV4 vs Segment Rivals

The RAV4 leads the compact SUV segment in the GCC due to a parts and service network that rivals like the Honda CR-V and Nissan X-Trail cannot match in breadth. Its 2.5L engine is specifically tuned for reliable performance in high heat, offering a more battle-tested powertrain for long desert highway drives between Emirates. Furthermore, the RAV4 consistently outperforms the Mitsubishi Outlander in terms of three-year residual value across all GCC territories.

Running Costs & Resale

With an official combined fuel consumption of 7.5 L/100km, the RAV4 remains one of the most efficient non-hybrid petrol SUVs for GCC commuting. Toyota's extensive authorized service network ensures that maintenance is affordable and accessible from Dubai to Muscat. Historically, the RAV4 in VX trim maintains approximately 88-92% of its value after the first year in the UAE, making it one of the safest financial assets in the automotive market.

Performance & Capability

The 2.5L four-cylinder engine delivers a reliable 176 hp, providing smooth power delivery that is ideal for maintaining pace on fast-moving highways like the E11. While this front-wheel-drive configuration is optimized for fuel efficiency and urban comfort, the 199 mm ground clearance offers peace of mind when navigating unpaved construction zones or gravel tracks. The 8-speed automatic transmission ensures shifts remain crisp and refined, even during the peak of the summer heat.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for GCC families, featuring a powerful dual-zone climate control system and dedicated rear vents to keep all five passengers cool in 45°C+ temperatures. Acoustic insulation has been improved for this generation, significantly reducing road noise during long-distance drives across the region. The 580-litre boot provides class-leading practicality for grocery runs or weekend road trips, with flat-folding seats for additional cargo versatility.

Safety

Safety is a primary focus for the VX trim, which comes equipped with 9 airbags and a comprehensive suite of active systems. The standard package includes a rearview camera and front and rear parking sensors, which are essential for navigating tight parking spaces in major GCC cities. Advanced driver assistance features like cruise control and electronic stability programs provide an extra layer of security during high-speed highway travel and in low-grip conditions.

The bottom line

This is the ideal SUV for the sensible GCC buyer who wants a premium trim and low mileage without the depreciation of a showroom-fresh car. Its combination of the VX specification and Toyota's unmatched resale reputation makes it the most logical family vehicle currently on the market.
