Summary

This 2025 Hyundai Sonata Comfort represents a smart entry point into the modern sedan market, offering the latest styling updates with just 35,000 km of road use. As a one-year-old vehicle, it has already cleared the steepest part of its initial depreciation curve while retaining the fresh feel of a current-generation model. The silver exterior is a top-tier choice for the GCC, known for its ability to hide desert dust and maintain high resale demand. It stands out against rivals with its bold, futuristic lighting signature and a cabin that punches well above its weight in tech and layout. For a GCC buyer, this is an efficient, stylish daily driver that offers significant savings over a brand-new showroom equivalent.

This Car vs Other 2025 Sonatas

With 35,000 km in its first year, this Sonata has seen slightly higher than average use compared to the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual GCC baseline. However, in the context of UAE highway commuting, this often reflects consistent, long-distance driving which is easier on the mechanical components than short, high-heat city trips. The silver paintwork is a significant asset, ensuring easier maintenance in sandy conditions and a faster exit when you decide to sell.

COMFORT vs Lower Trims

The Comfort trim (equivalent to the SEL in some markets) adds essential upgrades that make a difference in the local climate, including dual-zone automatic temperature control and a power-adjustable driver’s seat for finding the perfect position on long drives. It also features a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen and proximity key with push-button start, features that are highly sought after by secondary market buyers in the region.

Sonata vs Segment Rivals

The Sonata is often cross-shopped with the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. While the Camry leads on absolute longevity and the Accord on rear legroom, the Sonata wins on visual flair and front-row tech integration. Its 191-hp engine provides a more spirited drive than the base units found in several competitors, and its 60-liter fuel tank offers excellent range for cross-emirate trips.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 7.3 L/100km, performing efficiently on the open highway between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. As an American spec vehicle, it is important to note that while parts are widely available across Hyundai's massive GCC service network, the resale value is typically 15–20% lower than a GCC-spec equivalent. Maintenance is straightforward with 10,000 km service intervals that are among the most affordable in the sedan segment.

Performance & Capability

The 2.5-liter engine delivers a verified 191 hp, allowing for a 0–100 km/h sprint in a respectable 8.8 seconds. This provides ample power for confident highway overtaking, even when the car is fully loaded with passengers. The 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness, ensuring a relaxed experience during the stop-start traffic common in Dubai or Riyadh.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed with the driver in mind, featuring a modern panoramic display that houses both the instrument cluster and infotainment. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated air vents—a must-have for the 45°C summers—and a fold-down center armrest with cup holders. The acoustic glass helps isolate the interior from road noise, making long-distance desert drives much more peaceful.

Safety

Standard safety on the Comfort trim includes the Hyundai SmartSense suite, featuring Blind-Spot Collision Warning and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, which are invaluable on the UAE's fast-moving multi-lane highways. It also includes Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, significantly reducing driver fatigue during heavy highway congestion or long-distance travel.

The bottom line

This Sonata is the ideal choice for a tech-conscious commuter who wants a 2025 model's style and safety features at a significantly more accessible price point than a GCC-spec showroom car.
