Summary

This 2025 Infiniti QX80 marks the debut of an entirely new generation, replacing the aging V8 with a significantly more powerful and efficient twin-turbo V6. In the Autograph trim, it offers the absolute peak of Japanese luxury, featuring second-row captain chairs that make it a premier choice for executive transport or high-end family travel across the Emirates. The Black exterior is the most sought-after color for resale in the local market, ensuring this flagship SUV maintains its value exceptionally well. With its heavy-duty body-on-frame construction and advanced All-Wheel Drive, it is perfectly suited for long-distance cruising between GCC capitals while offering enough muscle to haul heavy marine equipment or trailers with ease.

This Car vs Other 2025 QX80s

As a current-model-year vehicle with the brand-new 3.5L twin-turbo powertrain, this QX80 offers a massive leap in technology and torque over the previous generation. Being the flagship Autograph trim, it carries every available luxury option as standard, whereas lower trims often require expensive packages to match this interior specification. The Black finish is a high-demand choice in the UAE, providing a distinct advantage in future resale value compared to less traditional colors.

AUTOGRAPH CAPTAIN CHAIRS vs Lower Trims

The Autograph trim elevates the QX80 with an exclusive 24-speaker Klipsch Reference Premiere audio system, doubling the speaker count and power of the entry-level units. Unlike the Pure or Luxe trims, the Autograph features semi-aniline leather with quilted stitching and second-row captain chairs equipped with heating, cooling, and massage functions. It also includes the advanced Biometric Cooling system, which uses infrared sensors to direct airflow precisely where passengers need it most during the intense GCC summer.

QX80 vs Segment Rivals

The QX80 competes directly with the Lexus LX600 and Cadillac Escalade, leading the segment with a specialized focus on digital cabin technology and acoustic refinement. Its 3.5L twin-turbo V6 delivers 700 Nm of torque, offering more immediate low-end grunt for highway overtaking than many naturally aspirated rivals. Furthermore, the inclusion of a 1,200-watt premium audio system as standard on this trim provides a superior sensory experience for long drives across the desert.

Running Costs & Resale

The new twin-turbo V6 averages approximately 13.8 L/100km combined, a notable improvement in efficiency for city driving in traffic-heavy areas like Riyadh or Dubai. Infiniti maintains an extensive authorized service network across all GCC countries, ensuring that parts and expert maintenance are readily available. While luxury SUVs in this segment typically see a depreciation of 12-15% annually, the QX80's reputation for mechanical durability—shared with its Nissan sibling—helps it retain a loyal following in the secondary market.

Performance & Capability

The 450 horsepower engine provides effortless acceleration, making this 6,000-lb SUV feel remarkably agile on fast-moving highways. With a maximum towing capacity of 3,855 kg (8,500 lbs), it is a class leader for hauling boats or caravans to the coast. The sophisticated electronic air suspension allows the vehicle to lower for easier entry or raise to clear obstacles, ensuring a composed ride regardless of the load or terrain.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout is defined by its ultra-luxurious second-row captain chairs, which provide a private-jet experience for rear passengers. Climate control is a standout feature, utilizing a tri-zone system designed to combat 45°C+ temperatures with high-velocity cooling and ventilated seating in both front rows. Advanced acoustic glass and enhanced sound deadening ensure the cabin remains a silent sanctuary, even at high cruising speeds on open desert roads.

Safety

Standard safety tech on this Autograph trim includes ProPILOT Assist 2.1, which offers hands-on-wheel lane centering and adaptive cruise control for stress-free travel between emirates. The 3D Around View Monitor with 'Invisible Hood' technology is particularly useful for navigating tight parking spaces or avoiding obstacles in high-profile city centers. It also features a comprehensive suite of active interventions, including blind-spot monitoring and predictive forward collision warnings that monitor two cars ahead.

The bottom line

This 2025 Autograph trim is the definitive choice for the buyer who wants the very latest in Japanese engineering and maximum cabin luxury without the long waiting lists often found at new dealerships. As a GCC-spec flagship in the region's best resale color, it represents a secure investment in a brand-new generation of luxury SUV.
