Summary

This 2025 Mercedes-AMG G63 is a near-new example of the world’s most iconic performance SUV, showing just 5,000 km on the odometer. As a latest-generation model, it features the 48-volt mild-hybrid update that smooths out city driving and provides instant torque for overtaking on the E11. The Obsidian Black finish remains the gold standard for resale value in the UAE, ensuring strong demand when you eventually decide to upgrade. While rivals focus on aerodynamics, the G63 maintains its unmistakable presence and mechanical purity, offering a driving experience that no other luxury SUV can replicate. For a GCC buyer, this is an opportunity to jump the long waitlists for a current-year flagship in its most desirable color combination.

This Car vs Other 2025 G63 AMGs

With only 5,000 km, this vehicle is significantly below the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average for used cars in the GCC. The European specification offers the same handcrafted V8 performance found in local inventory, though it is often sought after for its specific interior material configurations. Black is one of the top three resale colors in the region, providing a faster exit and better value retention than more niche shades.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The G63 AMG comes standard with features that are expensive options on the G550, including the AMG Speedshift 9-speed transmission and the signature side-exit exhaust system. This 2025 model introduces the new Off-Road Cockpit and 'Transparent Hood' camera technology as standard, providing essential visibility when navigating soft sand or tight parking. Unlike lower trims, the G63 features an AMG-specific grille and flared wheel arches that define the model's prestige.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

The G63 stands apart from the Range Rover Autobiography and Porsche Cayenne Turbo by utilizing a traditional ladder-frame chassis and three independent locking differentials. While the Range Rover leads in ultimate ride plushness, the G63 offers a mechanical connection and presence that commands the road in Dubai and Riyadh. Its vertical glass and boxy dimensions offer superior visibility in heavy traffic compared to the sloping rooflines of modern crossover rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V8 biturbo features a cylinder deactivation system, though real-world GCC city consumption typically hovers around 18L/100km, dropping to 14.7L/100km on long highway stretches between emirates. As a European-spec vehicle, buyers should verify local warranty compatibility with authorized UAE distributors, as international warranties often require separate service contracts. The G63 holds one of the highest resale values in the luxury segment, typically retaining 75–80% of its value after three years in the local market.

Performance & Capability

Despite its 2.6-ton curb weight, the G63 reaches 100 km/h in a staggering 4.3 seconds, ensuring effortless highway merging. The 2025 update includes an integrated starter-generator that adds 20 hp and 200 Nm of torque at low revs, perfect for instant response in stop-start traffic. With a 700 mm wading depth and permanent all-wheel drive, it is as capable in a desert wadi as it is on the streets of Jumeirah.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is insulated with acoustic glass to shield occupants from the summer heat and high-speed wind noise. Standard 64-color ambient lighting and the Burmester 3D Surround Sound system provide a high-tech atmosphere for long cross-border drives. Dedicated rear climate vents and high-quality leather upholstery ensure all passengers remain comfortable even when external temperatures exceed 45°C.

Safety

The 2025 G63 includes an enhanced ADAS suite with Active Steering Assist and Blind Spot Monitoring, which are vital for the multi-lane highway environment of the GCC. The new 360° camera system includes a 'Transparent Hood' view to prevent rim damage against high curbs or hidden rocks. Standard adaptive cruise control makes the long desert highways between Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia significantly less fatiguing.

The bottom line

This is a prime opportunity for a buyer seeking a near-showroom 2025 G63 in the region's most popular color, bypassing current dealer lead times while benefiting from the latest mild-hybrid technology.
