Renault Koleos PE 2.5

Highlights

• 8.1 L/100km combined fuel economy
• 458 litres of boot space with seats upright
• Six airbags standard

Summary

This 2025 Renault Koleos PE is a compelling choice for GCC buyers looking for a nearly new family SUV that bridges the gap between European design and Japanese mechanical simplicity. With just over 14,500 km, this vehicle has already undergone its steepest depreciation while remaining technically current for years of ownership. The Grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the region, effectively masking desert dust and holding strong resale appeal across the UAE and Saudi markets. As a GCC-spec model, it is purpose-built with a reinforced climate control system to handle 50-degree summers without compromise. It represents a smart balance of high-riding visibility and substantial cargo capacity for the modern Gulf family.

This Car vs Other 2025 Renault Koleos

With only 14,514 km on the odometer, this Koleos is significantly below the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average for the GCC, offering a mechanical life closer to a showroom vehicle. The Grey paint is one of the most stable colors for value retention in local markets, unlike niche shades that often struggle at resale. Choosing this nearly new example allows a buyer to secure a 2025 model year while the first owner has already absorbed the initial registration and drive-off depreciation.

PE vs Lower Trims

The PE trim serves as the essential gateway to the Koleos range, focusing on the high-utility features GCC drivers prioritize most. Unlike more basic entry-level SUVs in this segment, it includes standard C-shaped LED daytime running lights and 17-inch silver alloy wheels that maintain a premium presence. Inside, it offers key connectivity like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with rear parking sensors, ensuring it meets the baseline for modern executive and family commuting.

Renault Koleos vs Segment Rivals

The Koleos shares its reliable 2.5L powertrain with the Nissan X-Trail, but offers a more refined, European-tuned ride quality that GCC drivers often find superior on uneven road surfaces. Compared to the Honda CR-V, the Renault leads with a full-size spare wheel—a critical advantage for long-distance desert highway drives. Its class-leading 32 cm of rear knee-space makes it a more comfortable option for families prioritizing adult passenger room in the second row.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.5L engine achieves a verified 8.1 L/100km, which is efficient for a mid-size SUV in GCC stop-start city traffic. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from a widespread authorized service network across the UAE, KSA, and Oman, ensuring parts are affordable and readily available. Historically, the Koleos retains roughly 88-90% of its value in the first year in the UAE market, making it a lower-risk investment compared to more expensive European luxury crossovers.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 170 hp 2.5-litre engine paired with a smooth X-Tronic CVT, the Koleos provides linear power delivery ideal for highway overtaking and smooth city cruising. With 210 mm of ground clearance, it easily handles high speed bumps and light gravel paths encountered during weekend family trips. While this PE trim is front-wheel drive, its chassis is shared with global 4x4 platforms, giving it a robust feel and stability during long-distance drives across emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the heat, featuring dedicated rear AC vents to ensure all passengers stay cool during peak summer months. The boot offers a flat loading lip and 458 litres of space, expanding to a massive 1,690 litres when the rear seats are folded for shopping or travel gear. Acoustic glass and foamed interior materials provide a quiet environment, effectively insulating the cabin from desert wind and highway noise at high speeds.

Safety

Safety is a priority with six airbags standard on this PE trim, providing comprehensive curtain and side-impact protection. The vehicle is equipped with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Hill Start Assist, which are particularly useful when navigating sandy parking areas or inclined ramps. Standard ISOFIX points and a tyre pressure monitoring system ensure it meets the daily safety needs of young families across the GCC.

The bottom line

Perfect for the value-conscious family in Dubai or Riyadh, this low-mileage 2025 Koleos offers the modern tech and cooling capacity of a new car at a significantly smarter price point.
