• 3,000 kg braked towing capacity

Summary

This 2025 Riddara RD6 Ultra X represents a groundbreaking entry into the GCC pickup market, blending supercar-level acceleration with genuine utility. As a one-year-old electric truck with flagship AWD specifications, it offers a distinct advantage over standard RWD models by nearly doubling the power output to 422 hp. The Green exterior is a standout choice for the region, offering a modern, eco-conscious aesthetic that maintains strong appeal in the growing UAE EV secondary market. For the GCC buyer, the most compelling factor is the localized testing; Riddara specifically optimized this platform for extreme heat, ensuring the battery and cooling systems handle 50°C summers without performance degradation. It bridges the gap between a comfortable family SUV and a rugged weekend workhorse perfectly.

This Car vs Other 2025 RD6s

While many 2025 RD6 units in the market are the base rear-wheel-drive versions, this Ultra X features the dual-motor All-Wheel Drive system, offering superior traction on sand and gravel surfaces. Its low age means the 86 kWh battery remains in peak health, benefiting from the latest BMS firmware updates released for the 2025 model year. The specific Green launch color is highly sought after by lifestyle buyers in the UAE, providing better value retention compared to more common white or silver fleet-spec units.

ULTRA X vs Lower Trims

The Ultra X trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience by adding a full ADAS safety suite, including Blind Spot Detection and Lane Change Assist, which are essential for navigating fast-moving GCC highway traffic. Unlike the base 'Air' trim, the Ultra X includes the premium eight-speaker audio system, a panoramic sunroof, and the larger 14.6-inch infotainment display. Crucially for the local climate, this flagship trim features the 540-degree panoramic camera system with a transparent underbody view, making it much easier to position the truck in tight parking spots or over obstacles.

RD6 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to traditional mid-size pickups like the Toyota Hilux or Ford Ranger, the RD6 offers a monocoque chassis that provides a vastly smoother, car-like ride on paved roads. While it competes with the LDV eT60 in the electric space, the Riddara leads with a much higher 6kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) discharge capacity, allowing you to power heavy-duty appliances or camping gear directly from the bed. Its 4.5-second acceleration also places it in a performance category that petrol-powered rivals simply cannot match without significantly higher running costs.

Running Costs & Resale

The RD6 Ultra X offers exceptional running cost benefits in the GCC, with electric charging costs significantly lower than petrol equivalents for a truck of this size. Service intervals are generous at 20,000 km or 12 months, primarily involving inspections of the cooling system and electrical components rather than the complex mechanical maintenance required by diesel trucks. Riddara has established an authorized service presence in the UAE and Jordan, with parts shared across the Geely group ecosystem, supporting stable resale values. In the local market, EV pickups are currently seeing lower annual depreciation compared to luxury sedans due to their high demand and limited availability.

Performance & Capability

Powered by dual electric motors producing 422 hp and 595 Nm of torque, the RD6 Ultra X delivers instant power that makes highway overtaking effortless. Its 225 mm ground clearance and 815 mm wading depth ensure it is more than capable of handling unexpected weather or light desert trails. The truck is rated for a 1,030 kg payload and 3,000 kg braked towing capacity, proving that its unibody construction does not sacrifice utility for comfort.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a major departure from the 'work truck' norm, featuring soft-touch materials and a high-resolution 10.2-inch digital cockpit. It is equipped with a powerful air conditioning system specifically tuned for the Middle East, including dedicated rear vents to keep all five passengers cool during peak summer. Storage is a highlight, with a 70-liter front trunk (frunk) for clean storage and an additional 48-liter compartment hidden under the rear seats.

Safety

Safety is a priority on the Ultra X, featuring six airbags and a reinforced body structure made of 70% high-strength steel. The standard ADAS suite provides high-level protection with Adaptive Cruise Control for long drives between emirates, and Emergency Lane Keeping Assist for highway safety. Its 540-degree camera system provides total visibility, including the area directly beneath the vehicle, which is a standout feature for both urban parking and off-road maneuvering.

The bottom line

This Riddara RD6 Ultra X is the ideal choice for a tech-forward buyer who wants the utility of a truck without the rough ride or fuel bills of a traditional 4x4. With its high-spec dual-motor setup and GCC-ready cooling, it represents a rare opportunity to own a nearly-new flagship electric pickup in the UAE.
