Summary

This 2025 Suzuki Jimny GLX represents a perfect entry point for those seeking the ultimate balance of iconic desert capability and daily practicality in the five-door configuration. As a GCC-spec model, it is factory-prepared for the region's extreme heat and rugged terrain, while its Kinetic Green finish remains one of the most sought-after colors for resale in the local market. The GLX trim significantly upgrades the cabin experience with modern tech, making it a viable primary vehicle rather than just a weekend toy. With mileage that reflects a single year of typical UAE commuting, it offers a nearly-new experience with the heavy initial depreciation already settled. For the GCC buyer, this is the definitive choice for navigating both tight city parking in Dubai and soft dunes in the Empty Quarter.

This Car vs Other 2025 Jimnys

With 36,961 km, this Jimny sits slightly above the average annual mileage for this specific model type, which is typically used as a secondary lifestyle vehicle. However, in the context of the GCC where 25,000 km per year is the standard for primary cars, its mechanical condition remains excellent. The Kinetic Green exterior is a high-demand signature color in the UAE and Saudi markets, often commanding faster turnaround times and better price retention than standard white or silver units.

GLX vs Lower Trims

The GLX trim is the essential choice for GCC buyers, adding a larger 9-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity and a 360-degree camera system that is invaluable for both tight urban parking and technical off-roading. Unlike the base GL, this trim includes LED projector headlamps with washers for dusty conditions, automatic climate control, and rear AC vents to ensure cabin comfort during the summer peak. You also receive premium steering wheel-mounted controls and a more sophisticated interior finish that bridges the gap between a rugged tool and a comfortable commuter.

Jimny vs Segment Rivals

The Jimny occupies a unique niche against rivals like the Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco Sport, leading the segment in agility and fuel efficiency thanks to its lightweight 1,090 kg curb weight. Its authentic ladder-frame construction and rigid axles provide genuine off-road durability that monocoque crossovers cannot match, while its compact 4.9-meter turning circle makes it significantly easier to maneuver through congested GCC city traffic. For the long-distance regional traveler, the 5-door model provides the extra wheelbase stability that the 3-door variant lacks.

Running Costs & Resale

The 1.5L engine is remarkably efficient for a 4x4, with real-world fuel consumption averaging between 6.8L and 7.5L/100km on a combined cycle. Suzuki’s authorized service network is one of the most extensive across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring low maintenance costs and easy access to parts even in remote areas. The Jimny historically maintains the lowest depreciation rate in its class across the GCC, often retaining over 85-90% of its value after three years due to its cult following and proven reliability in high-heat environments.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with the ALLGRIP PRO 4WD system, the Jimny features a dedicated low-range transfer case that delivers maximum torque for traversing soft sand and steep rocky inclines. Its 210 mm ground clearance and impressive 36-degree approach angle allow it to clear obstacles that would stop most family SUVs. While tuned for technical off-roading, the four-speed automatic provides smooth power delivery for city driving, and the extended wheelbase of the 5-door version offers noticeably better highway stability at 120 km/h compared to shorter off-roaders.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-door configuration transforms the Jimny into a genuinely usable 5-seater with significantly improved rear legroom and cargo space. The cabin is designed for GCC summers, featuring an upgraded automatic climate control system and high-quality insulation from road noise. Practical touches like the 50:50 split-folding rear seats and a 9-inch digital interface ensure that despite its rugged exterior, the interior remains a connected and comfortable space for family road trips between Emirates.

Safety

This GLX model comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including six airbags, ABS with EBD, and Brake Assist. The standard 360-degree camera and rear parking sensors provide critical situational awareness in crowded city environments. Additionally, features like Hill Hold Control and Hill Descent Control provide vital electronic assistance when navigating the steep dunes and wadis common in GCC off-road expeditions.

The bottom line

For the adventurer who needs one vehicle to handle the daily office run and weekend desert escapes, this GCC-spec Jimny GLX in its most iconic color is a savvy, high-retention investment.
