Summary

This 2025 Suzuki Jimny GL is a prime example of the new 5-door generation, offering the iconic off-road capability of the 3-door with significantly improved daily practicality. With only 40,000 km, this vehicle is barely broken in for a GCC-spec Jimny, which often sees high mileage from desert weekend enthusiasts. The Silver exterior is one of the strongest resale colors in the region, ensuring better value retention when you decide to upgrade. Unlike the standard 3-door, this extended wheelbase model provides a much more stable highway ride between Emirates while remaining the most capable off-roader at this price point. It represents a smart buy for those who want a characterful daily driver that is genuinely ready for the Liwa dunes.

This Car vs Other 2025 Jimnys

At 40,000 km, this Jimny sits right at the expected average for a year-old vehicle in the GCC, where 25,000–30,000 km per year is standard due to long-distance commuting. The Silver paint is a major asset for local resale, as it handles the intense sun better than darker tones and remains the most sought-after color on the used market. Buying a 2025 model ensures you are getting the refined 5-door geometry that has corrected the high-speed 'dartiness' found in older, shorter models.

GL vs Lower Trims

The GL trim provides the essential mechanical hardware that defines the Jimny, including the AllGrip Pro 4WD system and low-range gearing standard across the range. While it skips the GLX’s larger touchscreen and LED projectors, it retains the rugged, easy-to-clean interior that off-roaders prefer in dusty GCC conditions. The GL remains the choice for enthusiasts who plan to add their own custom accessories while benefiting from the same 102 hp powertrain as the flagship.

Jimny vs Segment Rivals

The Jimny occupies a unique niche in the UAE, outperforming crossovers like the Renault Duster or Nissan Kicks as soon as the pavement ends thanks to its genuine ladder-frame chassis. While rivals offer more tech, the Jimny is the only vehicle in its price bracket with a low-range transfer case for serious sand driving. Its compact 5.7m turning circle makes it far easier to park in congested areas like Dubai Marina than full-size SUVs like the Jeep Wrangler.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically stays between 6.8L and 7.5L/100km, making it one of the most efficient ways to explore the desert. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km in the GCC, and Suzuki's extensive authorized network ensures parts are affordable and available in every Emirate and across the border in Oman or Saudi Arabia. The Jimny enjoys legendary value retention in the region, often losing less than 10% of its value annually compared to the 15-20% average for most SUVs.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5L naturally aspirated engine is tuned for reliability in extreme heat and delivers 130 Nm of torque, which is perfectly geared for technical off-roading. Its 210 mm ground clearance and short overhangs (36° approach and 47° departure angles) allow it to navigate wadi beds and steep dunes that would stop most modern crossovers. On the highway, the longer 5-door wheelbase provides a noticeably smoother and more composed ride at 120 km/h compared to the 3-door variant.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the 5-door layout provides genuine legroom for rear passengers and makes loading gear through the side doors effortless for the first time in the model's history. The AC system is specifically engineered for the Middle East, maintaining a cold cabin even when external temperatures exceed 45°C. With the rear seats up, you have 211 litres of space—more than double that of the 3-door—which expands significantly when the rear bench is folded flat for camping trips.

Safety

Standard safety features on this GCC GL trim include dual front airbags, ABS with brake assist, and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) to maintain traction on loose sand or gravel. It also features Hill Hold Control and Hill Descent Control, which are vital for navigating steep mountain passes in Ras Al Khaimah. ISOFIX child seat anchors are standard, making the 5-door a viable choice for young families who enjoy outdoor adventures.

The bottom line

This 2025 Jimny is the ideal choice for an adventure-seeker who needs one vehicle to handle both the Sharjah commute and weekend dune bashing. With its strong resale color and verified GCC spec, it offers a high-confidence entry point into the UAE's off-road community.
