Summary

This 2025 Toyota Prado GXR represents a standout opportunity to own the highly anticipated '250 Series' redesign without the lengthy dealership waitlists currently seen across the UAE. With just over 19,000 km, this vehicle is barely broken in, offering a significant advantage over the higher annual averages typical of GCC highway commuters. The white exterior remains the most liquid color for resale in the local market, ensuring high demand when it comes time to upgrade. As a GCC-spec model, it is fully optimized for the regional climate with a cooling system designed for peak summer performance and a powerful 2.4L turbo engine that balances city efficiency with highway overtaking power. This GXR trim serves as the perfect mid-tier choice, providing essential luxury upgrades that make it a superior daily driver compared to base models.

This Car vs Other 2025 Prados

With 19,038 km on the odometer, this Prado is in excellent standing compared to the 25,000 km typical of first-year use in the GCC. The white exterior is a primary value driver in the UAE, consistently commanding faster sales and higher retention rates than darker or niche shades. Choosing a GCC-spec vehicle over an import ensures you retain full access to local authorized service centers and regional parts availability.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR trim provides a major interior upgrade over the base TXR, most notably replacing the standard 8-inch screen with a massive 12.3-inch infotainment display. It also introduces essential GCC comfort features such as ventilated and heated front seats, leather upholstery, and a panoramic sunroof. Further practical additions include an electric tailgate and an auto-dimming rearview mirror, making it the preferred choice for family logistics.

Prado vs Segment Rivals

The 2025 Prado leads its segment with a massive 110-litre fuel tank, providing significantly more range for long-distance desert trips than the Ford Everest or Mitsubishi Montero Sport. Its body-on-frame TNGA-F platform offers a level of durability and off-road geometry that road-biased crossovers in this price bracket cannot match. Additionally, the Prado's footprint remains more city-friendly for Dubai parking than the full-sized Land Cruiser 300.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel efficiency is rated at approximately 10.6 km/L, a competitive figure for a 4WD vehicle of this size in GCC stop-start traffic. As one of the most respected nameplates in the region, the Prado historically experiences the lowest depreciation in its class, often retaining over 85% of its value after the first three years. Authorized Toyota service centers are the most widely available in the GCC, ensuring low-cost maintenance from Salalah to Kuwait City.

Performance & Capability

The new 2.4L turbocharged engine delivers 267 hp and 430 Nm of torque, providing a more responsive feel than the outgoing V6, especially during highway overtaking. The full-time 4WD system includes a center differential lock and a low-range transfer case, making it genuinely desert-ready for weekend dunes. With a braked towing capacity of 3,500 kg, it is also perfectly suited for hauling boats or trailers across the Emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout is highly versatile, featuring flat-folding rear seats to maximize cargo space when needed. Tri-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents ensures all passengers remain comfortable during the extreme 45°C summer months. The GXR's leather-trimmed cabin and premium 12.3-inch screen create a modern, high-tech environment that feels significantly more upscale than previous generations.

Safety

This GXR trim is equipped with 8 airbags and a suite of active safety technologies designed for regional driving. Standard features include a rearview camera and front and rear parking sensors to aid in tight urban maneuvers. The robust body-on-frame construction provides a solid safety foundation, while stability and traction control systems are specifically tuned for varying surfaces from wet tarmac to loose sand.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a GCC family or enthusiast wanting the latest 2025 redesign in a high-resale specification with low mileage and immediate availability.
