Summary

This 2026 GAC GS3 GS represents a compelling entry into the subcompact crossover market, offering a modern aesthetic in a popular Grey finish that holds its appeal well in the GCC resale market. As a 2026 model year, it provides a contemporary driving experience with the benefit of the latest manufacturing refinements from GAC's joint-venture pedigree. The subcompact footprint makes it exceptionally easy to maneuver through the tight urban grids of Dubai or Riyadh while maintaining a surprisingly spacious 5-seater cabin. For buyers prioritizing running costs without sacrificing a modern SUV silhouette, this Chinese-spec GS3 stands out as a practical, fuel-efficient daily driver. Its blend of high fuel economy and adequate cargo space makes it a highly relevant choice for city-based professionals and small families alike.

This Car vs Other 2026 GAC GS3s

As a 2026 model year, this GS3 offers the most current styling and updated cabin ergonomics compared to earlier generations. The Grey exterior is a neutral, high-demand choice in the GCC, providing better heat reflection than darker tones and maintaining strong residual value. Being a newer model, it benefits from the latest GPMA platform optimizations for interior roominess.

GS vs Lower Trims

The GS trim provides the essential modern comforts expected by GCC drivers, including a digital interface and efficient air conditioning designed to handle high ambient temperatures. While higher trims add larger alloys and ADAS suites, the GS focuses on delivering the core value proposition of high fuel economy and daily usability. It retains the same 1.5L powertrain found across the range, ensuring no compromise on mechanical performance.

GS3 vs Segment Rivals

The GAC GS3 competes directly with the MG ZS and Changan CS35 Plus, leading with a highly competitive fuel efficiency rating of up to 18.3 km/L. Its interior packaging, influenced by GAC's manufacturing history with global partners, often provides superior rear-seat knee room compared to rivals in the subcompact class. The 47-litre fuel tank is well-sized for the segment, offering a substantial range for urban commuting.

Running Costs & Resale

With a manufacturer-claimed efficiency of 18.3 km/L, this GS3 is among the most economical crossovers for GCC city driving. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and GAC's expanding authorized network in the UAE and Saudi Arabia ensures reliable maintenance support. As a Chinese-spec vehicle, it offers a lower initial entry point, though buyers should verify local warranty compatibility with authorized distributors like Gargash or Al Jomaih.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5L engine produces 114 hp, delivering smooth and predictable power suited for stop-start traffic and urban highway cruising. The front-wheel-drive setup and automatic transmission are tuned for efficiency, providing a comfortable ride quality across well-paved city roads. With a 47-litre tank, the GS3 offers a highway range that comfortably covers the drive between major emirates without frequent refueling stops.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed to maximize utility, featuring 341 litres of boot space that expands to 1,271 litres with the rear seats folded. Passengers benefit from GAC’s modular architecture, which provides near-flat flooring in the rear to accommodate three adults more comfortably than many competitors. The air conditioning system is built to sustain cabin comfort even during the peak GCC summer months.

Safety

Standard safety features on the GS trim include dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). It also includes Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPMS) and ISOFIX child seat anchors, providing the essential safety foundations for family transport. The chassis design leverages high-strength steel to ensure a rigid safety cell for all occupants.

The bottom line

Perfect for the urban commuter seeking a brand-new 2026 SUV experience, this GS3 offers class-leading fuel economy and modern styling at a highly competitive price point.
