Summary

This Geely Cityray GC is a modern, fuel-efficient choice for urban professionals and young families in the GCC, offering a striking balance between performance and daily practicality. With zero vehicle age, this 2026 model provides a unique chance to secure one of the latest entries in the compact SUV segment featuring Geely's advanced BMA platform. Its Blue exterior is a sharp, modern choice that carries good resale appeal in a market currently shifting toward bolder, tech-focused aesthetics. Compared to established rivals, the Cityray leads with its larger-in-segment infotainment and Volvo-linked engineering heritage. This listing is ideal for a buyer seeking a brand-new crossover that delivers premium cabin tech without the typical luxury price tag.

This Car vs Other 2026 Cityrays

As a current-year model with zero years of age, this vehicle represents the absolute latest in Geely's design and software standards for the region. While many 2026 models in the GCC market will soon accumulate high highway mileage between cities, this unit offers the pristine mechanical state of a new vehicle. The Blue finish provides a distinctive road presence that stands out against the common white and silver fleet, helping it maintain a higher desirability profile in the secondary market.

GC vs Lower Trims

The GC trim serves as the essential entry point into the Cityray lineup, focusing on the core engineering value of the 1.5L turbo engine and the large 13.2-inch vertical touchscreen. Unlike base models in previous generations, this trim retains the high-resolution digital instrument cluster and LED lighting that GCC buyers now expect as standard. It avoids the added complexity and cost of the panoramic roofs found in higher trims, which many local owners prefer for better long-term heat insulation during peak summer months.

Cityray vs Segment Rivals

The Cityray competes directly with the MG HS and Nissan Kicks, where it leads significantly in terms of interior display technology and engine torque. Its 571-liter boot space is one of the most generous in the subcompact category, providing more utility for family road trips than the MG ONE or Chery Tiggo 4 Pro. Additionally, its platform shares structural engineering genes with European luxury crossovers, giving it a more composed highway feel at speed.

Running Costs & Resale

With an official combined fuel economy of 6.3 L/100km, the Cityray is highly efficient for the GCC's stop-start urban traffic and long desert highway stretches. Authorized service is widely available through established distributors like AGMC in the UAE, ensuring professional maintenance across the region. As a 2026 model, it benefits from a full new-vehicle warranty, which is a major factor in maintaining high resale value during the first three years of ownership in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-liter turbocharged engine delivers a robust 172 hp and 290 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 7.9 seconds—a figure that beats most naturally aspirated rivals in this segment. The 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission is specifically tuned for smooth shifts, providing confident overtaking power on fast-moving highways like the E11. With 200 mm of ground clearance, it easily handles high curbs and gravel tracks often encountered during weekend excursions.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around a massive 13.2-inch 2K vertical touchscreen that manages most vehicle functions, creating a minimalist and futuristic environment. For the GCC climate, the air conditioning system is designed for rapid cooling, complemented by rear vents to ensure passenger comfort in the back during summer. The 2,701 mm wheelbase provides class-leading legroom for five occupants, making long-distance travel between emirates a relaxed experience for the whole family.

Safety

The Cityray comes equipped with essential active safety features including Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control, and Hill Start Assist to manage sandy or slippery surfaces. The GC trim includes a high-definition rear camera and sensors to aid in tight urban parking, along with a high-strength steel cage construction for occupant protection. Dual front airbags and ISOFIX child seat anchors are standard, ensuring a secure environment for younger passengers.

The bottom line

For a buyer looking to enter the 2026 model year with a tech-heavy, fuel-efficient SUV that feels more expensive than it is, this Cityray GC is the market's strongest value proposition.
