Summary

This 2026 G63 AMG represents the latest evolution of a global automotive icon, combining military-grade heritage with the newest MBUX technology suite. As a current-year model with zero years of age, it offers the ultimate high-status ownership experience with full mechanical freshness. The obsidian black exterior is the most sought-after configuration in the GCC, ensuring this vehicle maintains its position as one of the strongest assets for resale value in the region. Whether navigating the high-speed multi-lane highways of Dubai or making an entrance in Riyadh, the G63 remains the definitive choice for those who demand uncompromising presence and power. For the GCC buyer, this specific European-spec unit brings the highest level of factory finish and the latest 48V mild-hybrid performance enhancements.

This Car vs Other 2026 G63 AMGs

As a brand-new vehicle, this G63 bypasses the high annual mileage typically seen on used examples in the GCC, which often reach 25,000 km in their first year. The black-on-black color scheme is the gold standard for the local market, providing a significant advantage in liquidity and value retention compared to louder, less conventional palettes. Choosing a vehicle with no road history ensures the handcrafted V8 and sophisticated 4MATIC+ systems are in factory-perfect condition for the local climate.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The AMG G63 sits at the top of the G-Class hierarchy, adding the handcrafted biturbo V8 and the AMG Speedshift TCT 9G transmission which are unavailable on the G500. This trim includes the AMG Ride Control suspension with adaptive damping as standard, a critical feature for maintaining comfort across the GCC's diverse road surfaces. Inside, it features the Burmester surround sound system and the widescreen digital cockpit, providing the premium tech experience that local buyers expect from a flagship SUV.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

The G63 stands alone against rivals like the Range Rover SVR and the Lamborghini Urus by offering genuine body-on-frame construction and three independent locking differentials. While its competitors focus almost entirely on track performance, the G63 maintains an 850 Nm torque output that dominates both highway overtaking and deep sand terrain. Its upright design also provides superior visibility and cabin headroom, making it more practical for family use than low-slung performance SUVs.

Running Costs & Resale

While the 4.0L V8 is a high-performance unit, the 2026 model benefits from mild-hybrid assistance to manage fuel consumption during the stop-start traffic common in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Mercedes-Benz maintains one of the most robust authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring that parts and expert maintenance are always accessible. Historically, the G63 holds the highest resale value of any luxury SUV in the Middle East, often retaining over 85% of its value after the first three years of ownership.

Performance & Capability

The G63 delivers 585 hp and 850 Nm of torque, enabling a top speed of 220 km/h and a blistering 4.4-second sprint to 100 km/h. Its off-road capability is anchored by a 700 mm wading depth and permanent all-wheel drive with a 40:60 rear-biased torque split for dynamic handling. The inclusion of AMG Dynamic Select allows the driver to instantly transition from a refined highway cruiser to a focused desert-ready machine with specialized sand and rock modes.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary from the GCC heat, featuring a multi-zone climate control system and ventilated seats that are essential for summer driving. High-quality Nappa leather and carbon fiber trim provide a tactile sense of luxury, while the MBUX infotainment system offers intuitive voice control and seamless smartphone integration. The acoustic glass and heavy door seals ensure that the cabin remains remarkably quiet, shielding passengers from road noise on long inter-emirate drives.

Safety

Safety is paramount with a full suite of ADAS features including Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Blind Spot Assist, and a 360-degree camera system for navigating tight urban parking. The vehicle is equipped with 10 airbags and Mercedes-Benz's PRE-SAFE system, which prepares the cabin for a collision before it occurs. These active systems are particularly effective on fast-moving GCC highways, providing an extra layer of protection against unpredictable traffic.

The bottom line

For the elite GCC buyer, this 2026 G63 AMG in obsidian black is the perfect acquisition, offering immediate delivery of the region's most iconic status symbol in its newest and most advanced form.
