Summary

This 2026 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross GLS High Line offers a compelling blend of contemporary styling and all-weather confidence, arriving as a brand-new vehicle for the current model year. The GLS High Line trim adds critical premium features like a 360-degree camera and panoramic sunroof that significantly improve the daily experience in the UAE. While many rivals in the compact SUV segment charge extra for all-wheel drive, this model includes the sophisticated Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system as standard hardware. For GCC buyers, the combination of a turbocharged powertrain and Mitsubishi's robust local service network makes this a highly practical choice for both urban commuting and weekend road trips.

This Car vs Other 2026 Eclipse Crosss

As a current-year model with zero kilometers, this vehicle sits at the top of the used market pyramid, offering the full benefit of a brand-new car's reliability and warranty status. The brown exterior is a sophisticated alternative to the common fleet colors found in the UAE, providing a distinct look while remaining easy to maintain in dusty desert conditions. For a 2026 model, this represents a turnkey entry into the SUV market with no wear-and-tear considerations.

GLS HIGH LINE vs Lower Trims

The GLS High Line elevates the Eclipse Cross with several high-value upgrades over the GLX and standard GLS trims, most notably the 360-degree multi-view camera system which is essential for navigating tight Dubai parking. It also upgrades the interior with leather-appointed seating and a panoramic sunroof, features that are highly sought after in the GCC resale market. Additionally, you benefit from a premium 8-speaker audio system and power-adjustable seating not found on entry-level models.

Eclipse Cross vs Segment Rivals

When compared to segment rivals like the Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson, the Eclipse Cross stands out by offering standard Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) at a price point where competitors often remain front-wheel drive. Its 60-litre fuel tank is well-sized for long-distance cruising between emirates, and its tighter turning circle of 5.3 meters makes it more maneuverable in city traffic than the larger Tucson. The inclusion of a 1.5L turbocharged engine also provides more immediate low-end torque than the naturally aspirated units found in base-level rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

With its 1.5L turbocharged engine, the Eclipse Cross offers balanced fuel efficiency in GCC stop-start traffic, while the 60-litre tank provides substantial range for highway drives to Oman or Abu Dhabi. Mitsubishi maintains one of the most extensive authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the wider GCC, ensuring parts are affordable and widely available. Historically, Japanese crossovers like this retain value well in the local market, typically seeing lower annual depreciation rates than their European counterparts.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5L turbocharged engine delivers a healthy 250 Nm of torque, which is particularly useful for merging onto fast-moving highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. The standard S-AWC system includes selectable drive modes—Auto, Snow, and Gravel—providing extra stability on sand-dusted roads or during rare rainy spells. With 188 mm of ground clearance, it handles speed bumps and light gravel tracks with ease, making it a versatile choice for family weekend adventures.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is tailored for the GCC climate with a powerful automatic climate control system and dedicated front vents to combat summer heat. The GLS High Line trim features a panoramic sunroof that opens up the cabin, while acoustic glass helps insulate passengers from highway wind noise. The 5-seat layout includes 60:40 split-folding rear seats with a recline function, allowing rear passengers to stay comfortable during long cross-country journeys.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive on this trim, featuring a suite of active systems including Forward Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning, and Blind-Spot Warning with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. The 360-degree camera provides a top-down view to prevent low-speed scrapes, and a full set of seven airbags—including a driver's knee airbag—comes standard. These systems are particularly valuable for the high-speed multi-lane driving common in the GCC region.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a brand-new SUV with premium tech and standard all-wheel drive, this GLS High Line trim offers a high-spec ownership experience backed by Mitsubishi's legendary regional reliability.
