Summary

This latest-generation model represents the absolute peak of Japanese engineering, offering a transformative step forward in technology and power that makes it a highly desirable find in the current market. As a GCC-spec vehicle with a versatile grey exterior, it is perfectly suited for high resale value and long-term durability in the local climate. The move to a twin-turbocharged powertrain provides world-class efficiency without sacrificing the legendary capability expected of this nameplate. With its expansive seating for eight and top-tier trim level, it serves as both a high-status executive transport and an unbeatable family explorer for weekend trips to the desert. This specific listing allows you to skip the waiting lists for the newest model year, securing a vehicle that is essentially fresh to the market. For any GCC buyer, the combination of unmatched service network support and a cooling system designed for 50-degree summers makes this the safest and most logical investment in the full-size SUV segment.

This Car vs Other 2026 Patrols

Being a 2026 model, this vehicle is at the very beginning of its lifecycle, meaning it carries the highest possible market value and the full benefit of the latest factory warranty. In the GCC, where the average annual mileage often exceeds 25,000 km, finding a current-year example allows a buyer to stay ahead of the depreciation curve significantly. The metallic grey finish is one of the most practical choices for the region, as it hides the fine desert dust better than black while maintaining a more premium executive look than standard white. Because it is a GCC-spec unit, it features the heavy-duty cooling radiators and specialized air conditioning compressors required for reliable operation in extreme heat. Compared to other listings, this vehicle stands out for its 'City' designation, which optimizes the suspension for the smooth highways of Dubai and Riyadh while maintaining high ground clearance. It represents a rare opportunity to own the most modern iteration of an icon with the peace of mind that comes with a fresh service history.

LE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The LE Platinum City is the comprehensive flagship choice, separating itself from the XE and SE trims through a massive infusion of luxury and technology. While lower trims focus on utility, this version adds sophisticated 22-inch alloy wheels and the specialized 'City' bumper design that provides a more aerodynamic and aggressive road presence. Inside, the cabin is transformed with quilted semi-aniline leather upholstery and ventilated front seats, which are an absolute necessity during the intense GCC summer months. You also benefit from the premium 12-speaker Bose sound system and a dual-screen cockpit display that is absent in the base models. This trim also standardizes the 360-degree Around View Monitor with moving object detection, making it significantly easier to park this large SUV in tight mall basements. Additionally, the inclusion of a refrigerated cool box in the center console ensures that drinks stay ice-cold even during long cross-country drives across the Emirates.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 or the Chevrolet Tahoe, this model offers a distinct advantage in terms of cabin technology and ride smoothness. The 3.5-liter twin-turbo engine produces 425 horsepower, giving it a performance edge over many V8 rivals while offering a more refined and quieter highway cruise. For long-distance GCC travelers, the fuel tank capacity remains one of the largest in its class, reducing the frequency of stops on the long road between Abu Dhabi and Muscat. Nissan’s hydraulic body motion control system provides a level of cornering stability that body-on-frame competitors often struggle to match. Furthermore, the third-row access and legroom are among the most generous in the segment, comfortably seating adults where others only accommodate children. The air conditioning system is also widely regarded across the Middle East as being the fastest to reach ambient temperature after being parked in direct sunlight.

Running Costs & Resale

Owning this vehicle in the GCC is a masterclass in value retention, as the model historically depreciates at a significantly slower rate than European luxury SUVs, typically losing only 8-10% annually. The transition to a V6 twin-turbo engine has improved fuel economy for both stop-start city traffic in Riyadh and high-speed cruising on the E11, making the daily commute more cost-effective. Service intervals are standardized at 10,000 km, and with one of the most extensive authorized service networks in the world—spanning the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and beyond—maintenance is never a logistical challenge. Parts are readily available at multiple price points, ensuring that out-of-warranty costs remain predictable and low. Because this is the newest body style, it is protected from the sharp depreciation that occurs when a facelift is released. Buyers can expect this vehicle to command a premium in the used market for the next five to seven years.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this SUV is a potent 425-horsepower twin-turbocharged engine that delivers a massive 700 Nm of torque, allowing for effortless highway overtaking and serious towing duties. This power is managed by a smooth 9-speed automatic transmission that keeps the engine in its power band whether you are climbing a sand dune or merging onto a fast-moving expressway. With its advanced All-Wheel Drive system and dedicated sand, rock, and mud modes, the vehicle retains its 'Hero of All Terrains' reputation, handling deep desert sand with ease. The 0-100 km/h performance is surprisingly brisk for a vehicle of this size, providing a level of athleticism that surprises many first-time drivers. Despite its luxury focus, the high ground clearance and robust suspension are designed to soak up the imperfections of gravel tracks and wadi beds. It is a dual-purpose machine that feels as comfortable at a five-star hotel valet as it does at a remote desert campsite.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior of the LE Platinum City is designed to be a sanctuary from the harsh outdoor environment of the Middle East, featuring triple-zone climate control that allows every row to set its own temperature. Eight passengers can travel in total comfort, with the second row offering limousine-like legroom and reclining capabilities. The cabin is exceptionally well-insulated, using acoustic glass to block out the wind noise that typically accompanies high-speed highway driving. Massaging front seats and a panoramic sunroof add to the premium atmosphere, making long road trips across the GCC feel significantly shorter. For families, the presence of multiple USB-C charging ports in every row ensures that all devices remain powered for the duration of the journey. The boot space, even with the third row in place, remains practical, and with the seats folded flat, it offers a cavernous area for camping gear or large shopping hauls. The use of soft-touch materials on the dashboard and door panels reinforces the premium feel of this flagship trim.

Safety

Safety is paramount in this trim, which comes standard with Nissan’s full Intelligent Mobility suite, providing 360 degrees of protection. The ProPILOT Assist system is particularly valuable on the long, straight highways of the UAE and Saudi Arabia, helping to maintain lane position and distance from the car ahead automatically. Blind Spot Intervention and Rear Cross Traffic Alert provide essential warnings in fast-moving traffic, while the Intelligent Emergency Braking with pedestrian detection acts as a vital last line of defense. The vehicle is built with a reinforced frame designed to protect all eight occupants, complemented by a comprehensive curtain airbag system that extends to the third row. High-beam assist and adaptive LED headlights ensure maximum visibility during night drives through unlit desert roads. This level of standard safety tech is often an expensive optional extra on rivals, making this a superior choice for family-focused buyers.

The bottom line

This 2026 LE Platinum City is the ultimate choice for a buyer who wants the very latest in automotive technology without sacrificing the legendary reliability of a GCC icon. It represents a smart, high-value investment that will remain the king of the road for years to come.
